The Captains Table in Ards

The older lady with the short white hair is one of the most ignorant, rude people i have ever met. If she works there, fire her- if she owns the place well ive no idea how she has managed a business this far. The way she spoke to customers was beyond unacceptable.Also tiny fish, all food bland and greasy with a funny taste.Find anywhere else to go and avoid at all costs

Food is good, but the portions are smaller than other chippys for the same price. Also, why say that you close at 9pm when you actually close between 8 to 8:30pm? Might as well change the hours

Excellent food from here tonight. I ordered our family dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite, a big thumbs up and a definite return visit! We had a Quarter Pound Cheese burger supper, Chicken goujon supper and sausages, the portion sizes were excellent. Staff were able to give dairy free options to accommodate a dairy allergy which was fabulous for me as I usually just have chips at our usual chippy! Hubby had a beautiful burger, well dressed and cooked perfectly, I had tasty goujons which were not greasy at all and then lovely sausages that got the thumbs up from the little people! Chips were delicious too! Queuing system in place and order collection on socially distanced chairs inside. Onstreet parking directly outside. Value for money, tasty treat for a friday night! We will definitely be back!

Rang to place a order for collection, to be told ‘we aren’t taking phone orders today’ before I had a chance to say anything she hung up..... fully appreciate that they may have been busy but manners cost nothing!!!

Very disappointed with the customer service at this establishment. We visited a couple of days ago and ordered fish suppers which we hoped to enjoy sitting in the car looking at the lovely view.The first impression on entering was that staff members were treating their customers in a non committed way, barely acknowledging food request and hurriedly rushing through orders despite it not being too busy.On receiving our fish suppers ( minus the salt and vinegar we requested ) we were then informed there were no takeaway forks to eat with...only a slither of sharp wood which the assistant said was helping the rain forests!! When I enquired as to the non provision of a fork or knife of any kind to eat with I was advised the stock was continually late. You can actually buy takeaway cutlery at several outlets in Donaghadee and considering the elevated prices in this chip shop I would highly recommend you purchase to enable customers to enjoy their meal outdoors.I will never visit here again despite the food being okay, their customer service is appalling.

HiVisited the Captians Table for a takeaway the food was good but the staff a complete waste of time. Asked for a fork non available. Given a piece of wood instead. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a fish supper in Donagdee there are better take aways close by with better staff and maybe better food.

Very bad customer service. Went to order food and was told to sit at a table, which is fair enough. There was an awful draft at the table as it was very close to the door. So asked if I could move to a table in the corner which was very spaced out from any other table even with convid 19 etc. As there was only 4 people sitting in. The waitress on duty refused this and I asked why? She told me we like to use the smaller tables first. Even though the sit in area was near enough totally empty and so many tables to choose from and you didn't need to book a table. So decided to leave due to very bad customer service.

Have been going here for some time and was always satisiifed with the quality if not the quantity of their fish and chips. However on my last visit I got fish and chips to take out. The grease in the fish was unbelievable. We ate the fish and left the batter in the box. I then brought the box back and showed the staff the amount of grease in the bottom of it.I was offered no explanation or apology. Eventually I was refunded the price of the fish but not the chips. I'm afraid this was my last visit to this establishment.
