Was shown to one of the booths which was l little high to get up into but really comfortable when seated. A good varied menu and the pork chop and trimmings I had was delicious. For a pub I thought it was a little expensive but the food was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic meal, service, atmosphere... All for a reasonable cost. I had the roast beef with all the trimmings. Beef was beautifully pink and tender, crispy roasties, loads of different veggies all nicely cooked and crispy yorkshire pudds and gravy. Chocolate fondant was out of this world. Brian was an excellent waiter.. We will be back.

Luckily I’d booked a table for us as that’s definitely a must as it’s good to see it’s incredibly busy & when diners leave the tables are flipped & filled again in no time. It must of been 15yrs since I was last in the Poachers Pocket. It was always a lovely wee bar for food & drinks, however back then it was so tiny & pokey you could hardly swing a cat lol. But oh my word, the renovations that have been put on has at least tripled the size of here. It’s even worth going, even just for a drink to see the difference. It’s absolutely beautiful. My daughter’s & I had heard fantastic reports about their Sunday Roasts & decided to give it a go as it’s a nice we drive down from Bangor. When we went in the door it was packed. A member of staff was straight over, took our booking details & we were taken directly to our table. We’d just sat down & staff were over with menus & took our drinks order. We already knew that 3 of us were having the Roast Beef & 1 person the Roast Chicken. We didn’t have to wait long at all before our meals arrived. Our veg arrived separately in bowls & the choice was great, though somewhat surprising as it definitely wasn’t what we expected! We had Cauliflower Cheese, which was absolutely beautiful, Roasted Parsnips & to our surprise Beetroot, an again, both delicious. I ordered with mine a portion of Stuffing. An boy was I glad I did. It was Apricot Stuffing & oh was this worth it, so tasty. I don’t like mash so I ordered Garlic Chunky Fries. This was the only disappointing part of my meal as my fries were so salty that I was unable to eat them, though they didn’t go to waste, as did anything else, courtesy of my partner lol. I can’t fail to mention the Yorkshire Puddings. Oh boy were these good! Real proper huge home made one’s totally lush. An gosh the Beef. Two of us had the medium & I had mine well done. All were cooked to perfection. The servings were great, two large slices that would of been far thicker than that of normal frying steak & absolutely mouth watering to say the least! Our meals were throughly enjoyed by us all & that’s an understatement. Only one of our group had a dessert. This is where we felt let the meal/menu down. The choice was extremely poor. You’d a choice of Sticky Toffee Pudding, Raspberry & White Chocolate Bread & Butter Pudding, a Chocolate & Orange Brownie or some form of Rice Pudding. The two old time favourites are an acquired taste & the Toffee Pudding & Brownie can be quite similar. I we all most definitely fell that it would certainly benefit & massively increase the amount of dessert orders if they were to hold back on the original menu & introduce several different versions of Cheesecakes but do a weekly special & along with that a Pavlova. The three of us who didn’t have a dessert only done so as their really wasn’t anything we liked on the menu, which was really disappointing & this would of finished our meals beautifully & instead we all felt quite cheated on having to miss out! All the staff were so nice, attentive & extremely friendly, so “Thank You All & we all also would like to send our complements & Thanx to the Chef for a beautiful meal” The prices were extremely competitive & in comparison with other eating places. It was £18 for just a main course, £24 for two courses & you had the choice of either a starter & main or a main & dessert, or all three courses for £30. On your way out you also had the option of popping into their shop to purchase fresh homemade breads, relishes & much, much more by the looks of it as we didn’t go in. Thank You All for such a truly beautiful meal & such a lovely experience in a totally revamped & beautifully redesigned building with such a lovely atmosphere. We will most definitely be back not only for Sunday Lunch, but also for a taste of the mouth watering menu that had plenty of choice & was suitable for all different meal requirements. In fact we’re going to book again for two weeks time for it’s my Dad’s birthday & this is something that will be right up his street & he’ll be amazed at the changes from how it was.

The food was utterly outstanding. Have lived and eaten out all over the UK, and can easily say this is one of the best restaurants I've been to. Setting was also really pleasant. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Northern Ireland.

The service in that place is a complete disaster. Avoid at all cost. Spending a couple of minutes to write a review about this place is costing me more that what it deserves. Big piece of altruism on my part. Dont waste your money and time in that place. This being said as it takes them so long to get you a drink or even food you d probably have enough time to make a bid for the door before they even notice you d been there in the first place. We saw ourselves wait 30 min before someone even approach our table for a drink order. Needless to say it went rapidly downhill from there. Starters were 'distributed' at random over a 15 min window. Same applied to Mains. No apologies from staff, just an empty look. The manager was nowhere to be seen. They couldnt even be bothered bringing the bill to the table. Imagine. A complete and utter debacle. If you ever consider going to that place, well dont.

I can't speak highly enough about the meal I had at the poachers pocket last night. Everything on the menu looked delicious and even better when they appeared from the kitchen. I got a stonebaked spicy prawn and sausage pizza cooked to order on site to share which was very tasty. I went for the pheasant main special pictured below. It was one of the finest mains I've ever eaten. Looked beautiful and tasted even better. The little side of mushroom/bacon and onion with sauce in a pot was divine. The dessert was a very high quality sticky toffee pudding and icecream. All in all a top experience. The service was really good also and not overly expensive for the quality of food on offer. The only negative was I couldn't try everything on the menu.

Stunning! Start to finish, just stunning. The decor is beautiful, country cosy style, fire lit, and atmosphere to match. Staff were so attentive, polite, and switched on.The food... Wow. Just flawless! As a chef i was impressed beyond measure, not only at the quality of our meals, every element of the dishes were perfection, and the speed was exemplary for a Saturday evening. Hats off to the teams both front and back of house.I look forward to being back to try more of the menu, and am still excited to call in to the farm shop out front. Thanks guys, made my birthday so special

Nice place to stop for a bite menu was good would of loved to try their pizza but not available until after 5pm pity really fancied it. Fish and chips were tasty served with mushy peas however not sure if there nuts in it if allergic to them ask

Lovely quaint little place to stop for a bite to eat. The spicy scampi was tasty but not overly spicy. The staff were very friendly too. Reasonably priced 😊
