Golden Chip in Castlereagh

Just got home with my order. Chips where undercooked and the batter on the fish soggy. Asked for it well done. This was the second time going after giving it the benefit of the doubt.

I was extremely disappointed, I got pastie and chips. The chips were all bad and the pastie was was just horrible. I was really surprised as I used to get from here all the time and it was lovely but the food has changed for the worst. I definitely wouldn't be back.

Food is delicious every time. However, staff are rude and incompetent. Lady taking phone orders does not relay order correctly. Every time, there is something not right what i asked for. Also very blunt and abrupt in the phone. Will look to find another chippy in the area in the future.

Allways get the cripsy chicken chunks but noticed last few times I've had here they have been terrible like the batter inside sometimes is mushy and the chips taste reheated the sasuages are worse I've ever had taste like washing up liquid still do the best garlic mayo I've ever had though.

Damn good cod and great chips. Breast of chicken looked good too but was scoffed before I got a taste.

Another visit to the fabulous Golden Chip Dundonald, although I live a fair bit away the gorgeous food here is well worth the journey, the fish never ever fails to impress and the pasties are simply delicious Trevor and his hard working team deserve 10 stars for the outstanding quality of food and great friendly service, the best chippy about, and we'll always be back!Paul G

Variety box has climbed 30% in price over the last year or two, and has also shrunk in size. Barely any fish in the batter this time, just a slither in the middle, a sausage, a bit of chicken and barely a couple of chipsPoor value for money for what you used to get.

Hadn't been to the Golden chip in yonks, loved the foot long hot dogs, and took a notion for one tonight.Unfortunately for me they stopped doing them, so I opted for a pastie bap instead, cheese, onions, and a wee drop of brown on her. And a portion of jocky whips also I may add.Dear me, I'd have got more taste from the bag it came in, the bap was as dry as an Arabs heel, cold as ice, and I honestly thought it was stale, it crumbled when I took a bite, the cheese was just bucked on, not melted and it was just a mess. The chips weren't much better, soggy, tasteless and mostly burnt crispy bits, never have I been so disappointed with an established as I was this evening, it made me wonder had it changed hands, but it hasn't. Maybe that the problem, I'll not be in a hurry back, shocking to say the least.Read the reviews guys, there is an obvious issue with things.

I had to give this one star because I couldn’t give zero. Staff are unable to tell the difference between chicken and fish. Ordered a portion of chicken chunks and got the fish chunks instead. How incompetent!!When I phoned to complain the male who answered the phone was so rude and hung up. I think a quick course in customer service would help.Recommend to eat somewhere else.

I was really disappointed in the Golden Chip. My chips were like mashed potato and I didn't like the flavour. My chicken burger batter was very thick and totally raw inside, like a mushy paste. I'm sad to say I won't be back as I remember they used to be the best chippy about for years.
