Chrysalis Tearooms at The Butterfly House in Down

Loved the butterfly house! What a unique place and the gardens and maze were wonderful also! Great day out for all ages!

Had a beautiful time at the butterfly house and gardens, got there sort of early and just sat for as long as possible in the butterfly house enjoying them fly about. It was a really lovely day for my mental health. The day was quite wet but the gardens looked really magical in the rain, when we visited the peacocks were walking around with their babies. We got some coffee at the railway Street cafe on site and just enjoyed the day being in such a beautiful place with the birds and butterflies

Great day out. Good experience. Fish turtles and and other insects be seen as well as the butterflies which were beautiful. Lovley large picnic area and cafe. Lovley walk .. bit of a struggle with a pram but can overcome 😆 good spacious parking and close to Newcastle ⛱

Lovely little garden and not too pricey either. Also pleased to see another railway street (coffee place in Newcastle) available for tea and traybakes. Not even the rain put us off!

Me and my son had a really great time here. The butterfly house is amazing, plenty of exotic butterfly's and moths to look at, they'll even land on you & eat out of your hand if you're patient enough .Obviously you have to be really patient, if you're the kind of person who likes to rush around places it's not for you.The price is maybe a little high, but if you really just settle in to enjoy it, it can be worth it .The gardens are very nice also, clean and well kept, with friendly peacock family's roaming free, and the hedge maze is pretty decent too.Good day out with the family.

Lovely placeThe grounds are lovely for a walkButterfly House was amazing my 3 year old loved itit is a small sized area so be aware you won't be in it very long.There is a great cafe at the entrance which makes all there items in house.I had a very nice coffee and bun that cost around a fiver which I thought was very reasonable

Beautiful butterflies, gardens and the maze is great fun great for photography or a day out with the family or alone plenty of places to have a picnic in the sun would highly recommend for a wee day out, if you don't like birds then beware of the peafowl although they are plenty friendly

Brilliant day out for kids and adults, bit of a wait to go in and see the butterfly's but we were told it was the busiest day since they opened after the lockdowns. But gardens and walk ways no waiting.

Beautiful gardens and loved the butterfly house. Could do with a bit of money spent on it - just seems a bit tired and worn.Wheelchair accessible but not easy in a self propelling wheelchair - the paths etc are stones and its hard going.Still a lovely day spent here

One of our favourite spots in Northern Ireland. a really beautiful walk, so fragrant from the variety of different flowers. The butterfly house itself it incredible-a real once in a lifetime trip getting to experience butterflies that you’d never see in day to day life that even come and land on you! It’s very humid so is quite difficult in Covid times to wear a mask inside the butterfly house but it doesn’t take away from the beauty! Highly recommend this place!
