"With an opened fire and a warm welcome, you will enjoy the slender of the traditional Irish pub! With some of the best live acts in Northern Ireland gracing our stage every Friday and Saturday night we have maintained our position as the place to be for first class entertainment. From the moment you enter the grounds, enjoy a stroll through our crooked chimney area, to the courtyard and our exclusive secret garden. There you can take pleasure in the tranquillity of the great outdoors, with multiple beer gardens O’Hare’s showcases Newcastle’s natural beauty."

First time here this afternoon. As soon as we walked through the door the place had a sense of peace and tranquility. A wedding was on as we saw the bride for a few moments at the bar before she disappeared. Not a hint of any noise though, a few folk chatting away as they eat and drank. We decided to take a table by the window and looked at the menu. Not a great choice however I went for the fish and chips and wife went for the steak sandwich. The food wasn't long in coming and whilst we waited a had a look at the excellent choice of beers. Food was excellent and couldn't fault it. Service was polite and friendly. I would have stayed for a second pint but eating does fill you up. Will we be back, yes of course. Excellent place for food and drink. We've walked past this place many times over the year's, just never going in but glad we did today.

Waitress seemed more interested in her friends that where in the restaurant. We were shown to a table set for 3 with 3 seats, was 4 of us Sat down at table next to it told to move as it was apparently reserved. Waited 23 mins before asked our drink order. 3 times we were told someone will be with us in 2 mins. Reserved table sat empty up until 2 mins before we left. If Waitress had taken our order instead of moving us we would of been gone 15 mins before reservations arrived. Wife suggested this place has she had really enjoyed her last meal here. After today we won't be back. Moved from window beside a heater to a drafty door wife had to sit with coat on

Staff were very welcoming and our boy got served with a bowl of biscuits and water. He left almost skipping (doggy style). See you guys next week. 👍👍👍👍

Lovely place with nice atmosphere and with very interesting old pub interior design. Was there with my family and children. Had a sirloin stake sandwich which was so tasty! Well recommended place with affordable prices and quality food.

Took the kids to Newcastle for the last day of their summer holidays. We had our dog with us and we were delighted to find this wee beauty of a spot. Everyone was so friendly when we arrived, service was out standing and the food was delicious. They provided treats and water for the dog. It was lovely to be in an environment where your dog could join you and be in company with other dogs. The place was nice and relaxed, soft music in the background. The pub has alot of character and im sure plenty of stories to tell.We will defy be back again when we're down in that direction and will highly recommend to others.

I came here straight from the route, after 10 km of hiking in the mountains, I was worried that I would not fit in any pub or restaurant. A very nice waiter with an interesting appearance welcomed me very warmly, which meant that I quickly regained my energy and thanks to him I came later for a hot meal, the food was fresh and tasty. And the atmosphere is very pleasant. Thanks

After a tough days walking up Slieve Donard we decided to call in to O'Hare's for something to eat and wasn't disappointed. We had fish and chips and pasta which was very tasty. Service was excellent too.

Just excellent. Just had my final pint here before it's locked down as part of daft and pointless government regulations designed to punish the hospitality sector. O'Hares is a haven in beautiful Newcastle. The ultimate resting place after a trek in the Mournes. They serve great pints and excellent pub food. On a Saturday there's typically a big wedding with a big merry chubby bride and lots of happy people. O'Hares represents what's good about life. Friends, getting together, having a laugh and a few pints. Visit when you're allowed. And enjoy life.
