The Garden Cafe in Down

Really nice find,only had coffee and cake but it was yummy. Saw others taking lunch and this was enough for me to plan a visit next time I am down this way. Great friendly service.

What a breakfast... quaint little cafe with lovely staff. Dog friendly. Beautiful views towards the jurassic coast. Interesting menu and the breakfast set me up for the day. Very well done to the team serving and cooking. Thank you

Small cafe tucked away in heart of the countryside. Great value, delicious food & friendly staff. Dog friendly on leads. A really lovely indulgent visit, definitely be going again.

What can be said..Bottom of hill advert for Garden Cafe open ..what better way to break a special and beautiful vistad walk up with a hot cup of tea and cake!!!! after walking up a huge hill from West Bay views were spectacular etc etc then onto Thorncombe Beacon and then dutifully followed the signs from the top of the hill to Downhouse Farm Garden Cafe with all its delights to view in its Green Board...found our where across a field following instructions on how to get to Garden Cafe from the cliff top walk....ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS ONLY OPEN FROM THURSDAY TO SUNDAYS......WHY OH WHY DIDNT THEY PUT THAT ON THEIR OPEN SIGN????? WE MET SEVERAL WALKERS WITH DOGS WHO WERE ON THERE WAY TO THE CAFE FROM(Not impressed when we told them it was closed) EYPE who were of the same idea..nice cafe hidden away nice cake,cup of tea but NOWT😞😱😤 ONTO EYPE EATS WHICH WAS OPEN

Beautiful place, great food. Couldn't give it a 5 star owing to the vast number of dogs allowed in and the insanity of a pot holed single track road leading to it. Book in advance.

Lovely, lovely little cafe, we were lucky to get a seat though, so worth calling ahead if like us you've just done a two mile walk to get there! Food was superb, garlic mushrooms were the best ever had 😊 and cream tea was easily enough for two. Lovely staff too in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend. 😊

Fabulous scones & cakes. Lovely friendly staff. Certainly a tricky narrow route for a small part of our journey, but totally worth it !

Downhouse farm cafe is a lovely place to stop for lunch. I can thoroughly recommend the crab bap, it was fresh, tasty and the portion was huge. The summer crumble was extremely tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming, we will definitely visit again if we are passing.

Lovely cafe, wasn't signed posted and we nearly turned around but glad we didn't. Lovely staff, venue and atmosphere. Food was lovely and fairly priced.

We arrived without a reservation (not thinking we'd need one mid week).The staff were very well organised and made sure to make space for us amongst those with reservations.The scones were warm and delicious! The table had just the right amount of sun and shade and was very inviting!It's one of our favourite stops during coastal walks and we'll definitely be back again!
