Very friendly staff and great decor. Ordered the jerk chicken, but was disappointed, the chicken was dry and I was pretty sure it had just been microwaved. But, for the price it wasn't too bad.

Can’t recommend simmer down more highly if i could give 10 stars I would. We went there in a group of 11 and had a banquet the food was amazing and I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere where the owners and staff take so much pleasure in making sure you have a great night ( If you haven’t been to simmer down then you should be asking your self why not )

Good quality food. quality rather than fast food,friendly service from the hard working staff,at a reasonable price. Food from full English to rice/peas jerk chicken,or just drop in for a coffee after looking around the music museum and shops all under cover,so you can still sit outside even in the famous English weather

Popped into the 2 Tone Cafe recently before a bus back to Leicester. A great breakfast & an excellent cup of tea served by a lovely lady for £4. I'll be back if the chance arises again!Arranged my mum's birthday party held exclusively, and I must say that Angela pulled out all the stops for us. The food was delicious, hot, authentic and plentiful. It felt like the restaurant was part of our family celebrations.

Called in to the simmer down cafe whilst visiting the 2 tone village. An amazing little cafe with VERY friendly staff and owners .absolutely beautiful food, I cannot recommend the mutton curry enough. We came from Doncaster and will definitely returning to simmer down!

Opposite the music museum so can be a little busy but worth the wait Amazing value for money. Authentic Carribbean curried mutton, rice and peas AND a portion of superb jerk chicken for under £10. Excellent.
