Dobbies Garden World in Lisburn

Nice place with huge selection of garden plants / furniture etc. I did however find it to be quite expensive as I was wanting to purchase lawn seed but actually found the same product for £5 cheaper at B&M.

Steve in Plants, was beyond helpful, offering great advice on the plants and trees I was looking at. Asking about the location I was planting and confirming I had the right soil! I’m new to gardening and it was a pleasure to speak with and learn from him. Thanks again Steve.

Don’t go here drive on by if you are hungry or disabled the queue is disgusting and yet there are loads of empty tables !!!! There’s only 1 person taking contact details and your order god luv her as noOne in the queue is happy. The good news is whenYou finally get to a table the food is quite good

Horrendous time, nothing had been priced, 45 min wait in cafe for tea and scone! Was glad to get out. If these places are opening I suggest they employ staff to cover. Nowhere near enough staff who were doing their best. Hence very very little purchased.

Love the fish and chips meal 😋 Unfortunately services is not as good as before, staff is a bit grumpy and not helpful today, especially the one on the till. Elderly man in front of me got confused with the cost, cashier lady (think she's called Jennifer) answered him very impatiently and quite rude in a way.

Visited Dobbies this evening to take our dog to see Santa Paws.We arrived on time, 5 minutes before the appointment but that is mentioned when you book your visit.We didn't have long to wait and the 'elves' were helpful offering to take selfies while queueing to see Santa Paws. They had provided a little arbor decorated for the purpose.When the time came we weren't rushed and Santa Paws took a real interest in our wee dog even playing along when I asked if she was on the naughty list for barking at squirrels and chasing the local cat. Santa said that she wasn't on the naughty list as squirrels and cats are a wee dogs natural enemies.Santa then related a story about walking his do at Stormont and having a squirrels drop on the dogs back which made me ponder how often Santa got to Belfast.Wee dog then got her present and Santa was very willing to pose with her for pictures.There was the obligatory photo which cost £8.00 but we paid anyway because who doesn't want a photo of their dogs visit with Santa Paws.All in all very well thought out and it shows just how dog friendly Dobbies really is.

Been twice in the last two weeks. The first time we went we got our food and by the time we got our drinks and paid for our food it was cold. There was also messy tables. We asked for the supervisor and explained to her, she gave a refund and apologised to us and said that they were short staffed. We thought that was fair and we would give them another try. Today our food was cold and we had to sit again on a messy table. My meal was £13ish and I got a coffee too. Its expensive for a cold meal which should of been hot. Not sure if I will go back again it's disappointing.

I can’t remember the last time I was this disappointed. Dobbies was a revered household name in my childhood. If it continues in its current form it will surely be a term of derision from our grandchildren’s early days.We were passing the garden centre on the outskirts of Lisburn and decided to pop in for lunch. What a mistake. The restaurant was understaffed, the queues chaotic and the menu choices pedestrian. Our ordered meals finally arrived after the staff finished making sandwiches for afternoon tea in the middle of the lunch rush.My potato was baked way beyond belief. Desiccated and plain burnt in places. The chilli beef accompaniment was bland and watery and the promised coleslaw was missing. Perhaps a blessing in disguise. My wife’s coleslaw was swimming in tasteless mayonnaise, her toastie burnt, the longed for soup was missing in action and the fries limp and tasteless.The last straw came as I headed for a vacant till with one purchase in hand to pay for. The cashier brusquely pointed to a long queue I hadn’t noticed and told me to get to the back of it. An embarrassing end to a total embarrassment of a day.What I couldn’t work out was why the locals were there in droves, with a plethora of tasty options nearby, including the excellent Woodlawn at Carryduff. I’ll know better next time.

Plenty of interesting and different Christmas decorations but the food section is nothing like it used to be, rather ordinary and if I'm honest seems over priced. Rapidly got very busy on Sunday just after 1pm opening. Huge queue for the coffee shop.

Lovely place, full of every kind of plant and outside accessories at a good enough price. Fish kept there are beautiful. Staff are a bit slow to get to you but really helpful.
