The service left a lot to be desired. The staff were careless and indifferent, which meant the wrong food being brought. Having waited at least an hour, several dishes had been returned. The food: cold and greasy and despite being informed about an allergy to onions the plate arrived lavished with onions. We could have got better food and service for much less elsewhere.Having been customers for many years we left feeling very dissatisfied and disappointed. We try to support local business, particularly in these difficult times. We will not be recommending the Ballymac to anyone, nor will we be visiting any time soon.Dorothy

Went in for a meal and it was first class service was excellent five star any day

We stayed locally and needed somewhere to eat for the evening, the food was not the best to be fair... I had the scampi and the batter was very stodgy and I gave up trying to eat it. My girlfriend had the peppered chicken and it was OK. It is your basic pub food it's OK if your hungry but that's about it.

Attended on a Saturday evening for a large dinner.Handy location and plenty of parking.Found the first waitress quite abrupt with taking my friends drink order and then immediately demanded payment which was a new one on me.The food did take a while to come out and there was four orders of steak, which *all* unfortunately were cold-lukewarm and despite taking how were wanted done, we’re all cooked medium. They were all served on a place by themselves without garnish and just looked very sad.One of the party members had said when a waitress who came to deliver two drinks that one was for someone at the other end of the table and as she walked up, rolled her eyes…rude. The vegan options, as another reviewer said, were limited to just two and one of them is a spring roll but must be quite large given the price? Hard to tell.I had the peppered chicken which was fine. It came in a small bowl on a plate and then the sides of chips and rice also served separately. the chicken was cooked fine but bizarrely chopped. We decided to skip on dessert. The side plates were also not clean. The Prosecco, to be fair, was quite nice. All in all, I don’t recommend and it’s extremely rare I leave 1* star reviews like this and this was despite reading the other low reviews made recently.

Fantastic food & great staff.

Tha food in the Ballymac was as beautiful as usual. The staff are lovely & friendly. Nothing is ever a bother to them, very helpful too. If you have never tried here, give it a go. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great food and service albeit a little expensive.

Visited last week for a meal (2 people). Atmosphere felt very off and staff didn’t look too happy. Table was extremely small and overcrowded with glasses and cutlery galore. Food wasn’t the best and with only 1-2 vegan options on the overpriced menu which in 2022 is quite embarrassing. Most definitely won’t be back.

Love going here as often as I can the food and service is always great, Great for any occasion, I just like the quiet time with family with a lovely settings and a great meal

We went here on Christmas Eve, and the service was disappointing.I ordered the steak and it was advertised it came with fried onions the food came out and I asked about the onions and the waitress seemed confused meaning lack of knowledge about the menu, by the time the onions arrived I had finished my steak. We where then looking to have a dessert we had finished our meal and our plates where sitting there for 15 minutes before someone had approached us.We ate here at 4.30 just before the dinner rush and it wasn't overly busy due to covid. Very disappointed we have been coming here for a number of years as part of a family tradition.
