Staff very rude and clearly not well trained in hospitality. There seems to be a habit of short changing you on the bill and getting cross when you question it.It is very expensive, and I have never in my life been in a restaurant where you order a medium cooked steak only to be told the chef can only do rare or well done that should have been the first clue to be honest. Food not as good as when first opened, not very good to their loyal customers to be honest and although i live next door I won't be back, that's how bad it has become.For better options in the area try Millars restaurant it's five star.

We went for Sunday lunch. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food very tasty. Will be back again soon.

I don’t understand why people with a serious lack of customer service skills work in a customer service based industry. I wasn’t surprised to have read a few other reviews to find numerous comments about the staff and the way they treat people. The establishment itself and the food are good (but overpriced) however, the staff really let this place down. Two staff members in particular are rude and condescending and could really do with taking some of the comments on here onboard if they expect the place to survive.

Amazing food, had the pie and it was delicious! Very friendly staff and great menu choice will definitely be back!

Would have been quite a regular patron. Though enough is enough. Hearing so many awful reports from others who would frequent regarding their treatment due to having negative lateral flow tests. Appalling to say the least. If a photograph of ID is good enough for a police checkpoint, what makes the speckled hen feel it is not good enough to enter and spend money in their establishment.Patrons will remember this, no doubt the excuse “rules are the rules” will be used.However, common sense would clearly not be the catch of the day in this eatery. Ignorance & rudeness in abundance .Covid has not brought this on either. This family run business has been well known for their poor service and lack of hospitality for many many years. Go elsewhere.

Will never set foot in this place again. My family just got refused entry by the most ignorant person I've ever met. Had a horrible experience with this guy before but decided to try it again. Refused to accept negative covid test with a PHOTO of my passport. I have visited many restaurants and this was accepted without an issue whatsoever. The covid passport scheme ends in 3 days and this guys attitude completely stinks. 4 of us turned back with 2 young children, but their loss as I know many friends and family who eat there, and I doubt many of them will return after this. Lot of business just lost for this place. Head to the Crafty Hound close by if you like good food and friendly staff.

The service in this place is awful, and the food is NOT worth the trip. The manager is very ignorant, and unfortunately this is the second time he has been unnecessarily rude. He was ill-mannered on another occassion and i am sorry now we decided to give them a second chance. There definitely wont be a third. His attitude really lets the place down,definitely not someone who should be working in hospitality. AVOID!

Food was great, can't fault it at all. Service was good. Very hard to locate the entrance door to the place though. Not stingy with the dessert sauce 👌

A friend recommended this place and it was even better than expected. My only regret was that my stomach isn't big enough to clear my plate. The food was exquisite. Can't wait to go back

Just amazing food , very welcoming and friendly staff. Eight in our party everyone was delighted with their meals . Definitely visit again soon
