Good selection of the "classics" on the menu with nothing to unusual so easy to please most people. The staff are lovely, polite and attentive.

Great food but slow service and the staff were note very tentative. Didn't take away empty glasses when new drinks arrived and we had to ask for more drinks or cutlery or where our food was several times

Walk up here for a pint sometimes when walking the dog along the front and every time we go, we wait ages for a pint. Just a few drinks. It never seems that busy inside, yet the wait is an age (10+ minutes). Bar staff standing doing very little when you go in. Car park half full. They say, we'll bring them out to you. Surely all you have to do is pour, leave to settle, top up, bring out. Nah, i'll just go hoover the stairs in the hotel first, then do these.Maybe because we're not spending £100 on dinner? The decor and atmosphere is akin to a hotel conference room too.Could be such a lovely charming place if given a bit of a makeover and staff we're a bit more relaxed and informal and knew how to look after people, instead of leaving them to wait ages. Leave the stuffiness to the hotel. Will be back though, hopefully a nicer experience next time.

A great place to meet your loved ones. Nice and helpful staff. They replied quickly to the question regarding the table reservation (more people than in the form - it is possible but you need to inform them in advance so that they can prepare a table).I recommend contacting them by phone or email.

On arrival we were greeted & seated with friendly staff, offered water & from then our experience of celebrating our 18th wedding Anniversary was appalling, a party of 5 we waited 15 minutes for water before giving a menu & to be told it was a set menu & the other food menu was not available until 5pm. We waited for 15 minutes again for our food & drinks order to be taken, we had our starter served 20 minutes later & still no drinks, we had our starter finished when the waiter returned with drinks minus 1 drink to inform us there was no red bull, we had asked for the cocktail menu & again waited for this, eventually the waiter returned with menu & the rest of the party had finished their 1st drink, so we reordered another drink & a cocktail, the waiter returned with our drinks & then be told there was no cranberry juice, this understandable due to brexit, but I feel when giving the cocktail menu we should have been told what was available, again my daughter Inlaw still had not received a 1st drink!!! I would understand if the restaurant was busy but it was not, the service we received was appalling. We then received our main course & was extremely disappointed, roast potatoes you could not have cut as they were over cooked & roast of sirloin was very chewable. We had ordered another drink & two dessert, eventually when the drinks arrived they were finished before we received the two desserts, the service we received was very poor, I always leave a tip but found it very difficult to do so.

Service a little off .. no butter brought with bread, drinks orders taken after food order. Scampi and steak were ok. Cheesecake disappointing... There was a function happening and the music was so loud we couldnt talk. Not really up to scratch for an establishment attached to a 5 star hotel.

Nice setting with decent food served by friendly staff. Only slight disappointment was the burger with the patty a little bit overcooked. Fish and chips, chicken wings and seafood chowder were top notch. Booking is a must. Great place to have a relaxing lunch with your family.

The food here is brilliant, if a little pricey (but that’s to be expected in that sort of area). My only gripe would be that the selection of beers didn’t quite match the quality of the food and venue!
