The Castle Inn in Blaenau Gwent

Had our first meal tonight at the Castle Inn. Highly recommended 5* Amazing tasty food. Garlic mushrooms And Steak pie with Caramalise onion and Cheddar Cheese. Never ever had such a tasty meal. They change the menu every week. 5* Service on everything. Will definitely be going again.

The food was very good, the best I’ve had in the surrounding area. There was a decent selection on the menu and the dishes/plates were suited to the meal not generic which I think is a nice touch. The staff were friendly and professional and there was a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting there again.

The food at the restaurant was brilliant!! Did not eat such good food in a long while. Taste was perfect. Compliments to the chef... That was an amazing experience. Would rate the restaurant 5

We really enjoyed Mother’s Day Sunday lunch at The Castle Inn. I had creamy garlic mushrooms to start, which was divine. The main course roast beef was absolutely fantastic - melt in your mouth and a generous portion. Probably the best roast beef I have had in the area, and I do love a Sunday Lunch out. Great gravy too. I had the mango crème brûlée for dessert and it was sooo good, very creamy with a lovely sharp mango sauce and it came with two little shortbread biscuits. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the meal and drinks prices were very reasonable. I won’t hesitate to go back, especially as I want to try the weekday dinner menu, as I’ve heard great things. The atmosphere is very cosy; there’s a little background music and I loved the fire and the decor. I may well have found a new favourite place to dine. 5 stars from me!

We booked room only accommodation and had a big double room with a comfy bed and armchairs and of course an ensuite bathroom. All clean and spotless. The new hosts were very kind and helpful and anxious to please. Although no food is served there is a dining area and guests are allowed to have takeaways, the hosts will supply plates and cutlery. Good range of drinks at the bar.
