It was an absolute delight to find Vamos just in passing! The staff were so welcoming and attentive with the place spick and span too.......and all for a cup of tea and a Welsh cake! I'll be sure to programme in a visit when next in that direction.

Nice pub, nice staff. I tried the Pan-fried Bubble &. Squeak for breakfast, its quality was good (its taste was not my style but it was not bad). A few weeks ago I had beef lasagna for lunch, I LOVED it, it was freshly cooked, hot, good quality and really tasty.

I stumbled across those place by accident amazing breakfast menu. I had the mushrooms on toast which was 10/10 ciabata toast creamy garlic sauce and I added bacon a sausage. It was all great quality sausages and bacon too! The cakes looks amazing so I had one! Victoria sponge was perfect. It is nice inside and still maintains the friendly valleys vibe that makes the area so nice. Thanks :) I'll be back with my wife for dinner!

Looked forward to trying this place out so stopped in for breakfast, the best thing about this place was the staff. The floor was painted which was very uneven, the floor needed sweeping, my wife had a breakfast with cold egg and another couple came in and they copained about their eggs to which had to be replaced, I may pop In for a coffee and a cake which looked lovely the display of cakes but would be hesitant to try hot food

Randomly visited last weekend. A friend and myself decided to go out for a few drinks. We heard about Vamos by the River so decided to go down on the off chance we would be able to get a seat for some drinks. As soon as we walked through the door we were warmly invited in by the owner. We sat outside and had a few drinks. We loved the aesthetic of the whole place inside and out. The drinks were amazing and all staff made us feel so welcome. When it started to get a little cold outside we got some of the blankets to keep warm. We had a lovely chat with the owner around the table. She told us about the improvements she is going to make and made us really excited to visit again. We can’t wait to go back down with a few friends over the summer. We would highly recommend Vamos by the River.

New owners.... menu on the photos is not the current menu.Unfortunately it was overpriced and under portioned (especially the small plates).Need to up their game, and fine tune the delivery to command the prices. No ice in drinks, wrong description on menu, cafe condiments, luke warm food, over zealous (but very friendly) staff.Unfortunately the menu reads well but the food and service doesn't back it up. Hopefully its just teething problems as it's good to see independent restaurants for a change and not the usual branded chains.

Called on Tuesday to inform them that I would like to book a table for Friday evening and that my partner is gluten and lactose intolerant. Was eventually informed that this would not be a problem as I’d given them plenty of notice. When we arrived yesterday, they had zero idea about my notification when I made the reservation!!It went down hill from there. The waitress was on her 3rd shift at the restaurant, so had very little knowledge of what was actually gluten/dairy free. The menu does list a few items that say they are GF and VE friendly, but that turned out not to be the case as they only had one fryer, so could not provide many items due to cross contamination.I asked to speak to the chef, but that didn’t seem possible.Eventually the owner/manager came and spoke to us.As much as she was very apologetic, the whole experience had already been tarnished by the fact that when making the reservation, something as significant as a diner who is gluten and lactose intolerant had not been noted. What we did have was average at best.Oven cooked frozen “gourmet” chips.Very unappealing chicken wings. The “Mackerel plate”, not pate was okay. The menu was spell checked.Soggy tempura prawns which I’d guess were also frozen.A very unappealing mound of green over cooked veg instead of the chips because they couldn’t provide gluten free due to the lack of a fryer. We arrived at 5.15pm and it took until 6.15 to get a starter. The staff were lacking in attentiveness. We needed to ask for clean silverware. My partners chair was broken and the concrete floor needs a lot of work.Poor at best and made worse by a very bad stomach for myself last night and this morning. Will not be going back.

Was really looking forward to tonight spoiling my wife on her birthday but was disappointed. Parking is poor (non existend), but didn't let that put us of. On entry we had a great welcome shown to our table and served drinks by our very polite waitress. Starters came straight out which was well presented and tasted great. Then main meal arrived and thats when it went down hill food was served on wooden chopping boards, food was great no need for gimmicks would be better on a plate. I had the mix grill and it was all stacked up on top of each other and falling of the board. After the meal we waited 30 minutes to have the table cleared seemed like they had a staffing issue which was strange as it was mid-week and was not really that many in. We asked for the sweet menu to be told sorry due to stocking issues there was no sweets. Sorry good try but room for improvement food was good get rid of the gimmicks and hire more staff.
