Beales Fish and Chip Restaurant in Bridgend

I ordered 2 x cod and chips. The one piece of cod was cooked to perfection but the other was overcooked, brown rather than golden, as if it had been cooking when the perfect one went in. I could taste burnt oil all rvening. Chips were a sensible portion and good. Would I return? Maybe, but I'd probably give one of the others a try first.

Certainly our go to Fish & Chips when in Porthcawl with a great classic look to the restaurant and great service.We have been coming here for decades when we are in the area, whether that is holidaying as kids or holidaying with our own kids.The restaurant has a very traditional feel to it as you enter and the staff are very friendly and helpful as they escort you to a table and give you your menu's. There are fewer and fewer table service places like this these days, so it feels nice.Food is always top notch with the fish being hot, fresh and moist and the chips having a nice crisp to them with soft fluffy middle, always a treat.Well worth a drop in if you are nearby, you will not regret it.

You get what you pay for in Beale's - it's a venue that is slightly pricier but for a good reason. The food is top quality. We sat in (for the first time) and were seated quickly, drinks orders taken straightaway, food followed not too long after. Restaurant was clean (and being cleaned when we were there), toilets very good. It's what you know and expect of Beale's... No visit to Porthcawl is complete without a call here.

Have been going here for many years, both dine in and takeaway. The last three takeaways of fish and chips have had two skinny bits of cod covered in batter and cooked as one piece, rendering the middle of the fish unpalatable and barely cooked. The price has increased but the quality decreased. Won’t be returning, which is a shame, because the food has always been good. Why they are doing this I don’t know .

Our meal was delicious, I had haddock and my Partner had cod lovely batter and the fish was tasty.The chips were lovely, you can have a glass of wine if you wish or soft drink, tea in a pot, or Coffee.It is comfortable and cosy in the restaurant and spotlessly cleanThe staff are always friendly and helpful.

Nicely cooked chips. My perfectly cooked cod had a crispy batter . My husband had a rissolle ,both my cod,and this were very tasty. Having visited Beales on countless occasions over the years we have not been disappointed by the food,or service delivered. The staff have always been lovely,and hygiene standards high.

Best chippy in Porthcawl by far. If you're down that way check it out. Been going there for years, still top of range! Clean and tidy place with friendly staff and super fast service. Can't fault it!

Takeaway or Dine in both with the same delicious Fish and Chips.Meticulously clean eat in area with friendly efficient staff.Very close to the beach and main amusement park, but not usual seaside fayre , a bit of quality.

First visit to this restaurant and really pleased with it's hygiene and food. We were asked to wait, so they could sanitise the table for us. There was hand gel available for us to use. Service was excellent, staff took our orders promptly. We had our fish and chips very soon after ordering no hanging about. Food was lovely and hot. Will definitely visit again.

Actually shocked at the meagre portions of chips I've received just now. I asked for a large and was told we don't do large we only do regular and I have paid 4.60 for not what I would even call 2 kids portions and they aren't even cooked properly. I've been coming to porthcawl for 20 years and this is the worst I've ever had gutted as this was a treat for my nan
