Opal Den Chinese Take Away in Bridgend

Excellent Chinese take away. Always worth the trip from Bridgend as nothing in the town centre comes close in terms of taste and quality. I had crispy beef and it was just that.... crispy.

Have been buying takeaways from here for many years when Alan was there. There is now a lovely young lady who is really helpful, friendly and polite. I would highly recommend you try their takeaways and enjoy the excellent service and delivery.

I always order from Opal Den because their food is great but today my meal was outstanding! The lady who takes my order is always lovely and polite. My delivery came within 30 mins and was piping hot! My beef in black bean was superb! Really soft beef and lovely crunchy sweet veg, sauce spot on. Same goes for the rest of the food. Tasty noodles, rice and brown chicken curry. Everything just tasted so nice and fresh. I’ve been off my food lately and can’t remember the last time I really enjoyed a meal.... until this evening. It was delicious! Hardly ever write reviews but that’s how much I enjoyed my dinner :)

We normally order from a different Chinese however realised that had a low food rating so went about looking for a higher rated Takeaway. The Opel Den came up in the higher bracket so we ordered. Wow, glad we did, lovely food and good service. Yum.

Only ordered food because my usual Chinese shuts on a TuesdayIt took 35 mins to get through on the phone, I was told it would be 30 mins to an hour. It arrived two hours later.The only thing good about the service was the delivery driver, his appearance and friendliness couldn’t have been betterSo my dog has just eaten the food it was tasteless, the chicken balls looked ok. The batter inside wasn't cooked! it was wet and stodgy. The chips were obviously cooked and re warmed in the chip pan. Greasy the worst I’ve ever tasted....The special fried rice had no life, no taste, all I can say is that it was once boiled rice. Pre cooked, it was then placed in a frying pan with a load of oil that has absorbed into the rice to give it a yellow colour🤮 it had been packed so tightly into a plastic container it came out in a lump a tea spoon of sauce has been used to smother the top the spoon marks were visible, some disgustingly chewyMeat was placed on top. Special fried rice it was more like a boiled rice brick, absolutely disgusting. The sweet and sour sauce wasn’t even full and I’ve never seen such a watered down sauce it looked like fish water, i wouldn’t be surprised if people eating (slop disguised as food) are not hit with food poisoning.Most expensive dogs dinner I have bought.That will teach me not to be so lazy and to cook, don’t even bother wasting money you will be buying food poisoning in a container

Having been a quite frequent visitor for well over 10 years, we're yet to have a bad meal from here! By far the best Chinese take-away in Aberkenfig with fast service and reasonable prices!And no dead rats out the back unlike the one opposite the old post office!!!
