Nice country pub / restaurant, went for friends birthday meal. Food very nice, service good, would definitely go again.

Stopped off for a quick soft drink after a walk. Whilst a good looking establishment and they've obviously spent a lot of money on the look of the place the customer service wasn't so great and didn't feel very welcoming. I didn't have any food, but I didn't really feel any inclination to stay long.

Stayed overnight, nice room and facilities, sheets and towels spotlessly clean and fresh. Enjoyed the evening meal and local entertainment . Only grumble the mattress was rather uncomfortable and the bed creaked when you turned over which was annoying. The staff were great. Everyone was polite helpful and considerate to all our needs couldn't fault them.

My daughter and I went for a meal for her birthday, we were bought the wrong meals , when I mentioned it to the waitress, she told me I'd orderd that meal, which I clearly hadn't as it was bbq chicken but I don't like bbq so would never of ordered it, so we just ended up eating a meal we didn't want because we couldn't be bothered to wait for another one

Good wholesome food just what we needed after walking around Kenfig reserve. Clean and Tidy pub. Dog friendly in the bar area

I was reluctant to write this but having drove out of my way to eat here I felt I had to. It was Friday afternoon and my daughter and I came here for lunch. There were two tables in the restaurant so it wasn’t particularly busy. My daughters vegetarian curry was totally inedible , it consisted of curry paste, water aubergine and corgettes, the waitress did check us and ask if I wanted something else as I told her that the curry was inedible , but my daughter had polished off the chips and Nan bread so wasn’t happy with a replacement. The both waitresses behaviour I found hard to comprehend as they were singing loudly behind the bar, singing over the music, turning the volume up if they liked a song skipping songs and basically behaving unprofessional in front of me the paying customer. I paid £50 for an experience I wish not to endure again and wasn’t offered a free drink dessert or any type of compensation for the food I paid for which I wasn’t happy with, which having worked in hospitality for over 10 years would be the norm. Such a shame as this used to be our favourite place.

Lovely food and staff were very friendly and helpful. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon and hadn't booked a table but they were happy to accommodate us.
