Had an absolutely amazing meal at this pub, wandered in not really knowing what to expect as we had never been here before but we were all welcomed with a smile! The food was incredible and we had clean plates all around, staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome straight away. We will definitely be coming back!

Poor. The chef in this establishment seems to think he is Heston Blumenthal...he isn't. Ordered sirloin steak, poor poor, the fat on the steak outweighed the meat by 2 to 1. We complained to serving staff about the poor meal but it took about 25 minutes for the chef ??? to appear. He came out sparring telling us how the suppliers he uses are used by Buckingham Palace (I think not) and generally being quite obnoxious. I would like to tell everyone thinking they might try this establishment for a bite to eat...DON'T ...it is overpriced rubbish. We have eaten in a variety of places from Michlin starred hostelries to roadside cafes, and never have we been subjected to such rudeness or disregard for customers opinion. We had a genuine grievance with the food and were treated very poorly for doing so. Nothing we were served warranted the price charged , poor food at highly inflated prices.

Went here for a meal as its dog friendly ordered food 2 stakes and 1 fish an chips first waited what seemed ages the stakes were nice but the fish and chips if you can call them chip was not very good no presentation fish was all batter the chips were as if the chef had cut a potato into quarters and cooked them with scraps wife dont like to complain but the dog loved the wedges for what we had was well over priced will give this place a miss in further

I came here a few days ago, I was served by Danie, she was so inviting and warm! She came over and helped us with the food options as I was gluten free, she helped us and I have never had such nice food! Will be returning soon!

Best Restaurant in town! We used to frequent a lot of pubs in Porthcawl for food, but in the last 4 months, we've only eaten here, the Asian choices on the menu are out of this world. Forget your Michelin Star nonsense, this is some of the best food I've ever had. I notice some really critical reviews here, get a grip, a damp patch on the ceiling of the mens loo, really??? Why a damp patch on the ceiling is a reason to have a pop in a review, i have no clue?Great food, nice selection of beers, friendly efficient staff, fast service, can't really ask for more, ticks all the boxes for us. Most definitely 5*S*T*A*R*S

We've come back to Porthcawl to visit family for a few days and whilst we had the grandparents on hand, we thought we'd head out for a date. We were told to head to The Rock and we are so glad we did.First off, the beer selection is brilliant, but the food was actually one of the most delicious meals we have ever had. We live in London and always make out how spoilt for choice we are for incredible places to eat, but The Rock honestly surpasses them.To start we had the Korean chicken wings - insanely moreish and I didn't want to stop eating them - alas we polished them off pretty quickly. We were blown away by how delicious they were.We then had the 8 hour ragu lasagne and my husband had the Korean baby back ribs. The lasagne had the most delicate pasta containing an outstanding ragu. The ribs are by far the best I have ever had in the UK - meaty, perfectly cooked, amazing glaze.Along with this absolutely lovely meal, the service was so delightful - friendly, unpretentious and helpful. We are already excited for when we're next back in Ptown and can visit The Rock again. Cheers!

First time visiting yesterday, we were made to feel very welcome, staff are so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, great selection of quality choices available on the menu. Pizza cooked in the outdoor area in pizza oven. Definitely give the garlic bread and onion rings a try, probably the best I have ever had, they were incredible!!! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be going again soon!
