Often travel from Barry to enjoy the Boathouse fish n chips. Unfortunately this time was very disappointing only mini fillets available which was the tail end of fillet and very small at approx £5 was in my opinion Overpriced for what it was. I asked for refunded after seeing the size when I took the batter was off and it tasted bitter, which was given and had free portion of chips after I asked for them and offered to pay. Will go again and hopefully normal size fish will be available.

Been visiting The Waterfront for many years and always enjoyed the food and the staff were lovely, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Not today!!! Very rude member of staff who asked me to leave when I dared to ask for an explanation as to why I couldn’t have a cup of tea. I was given several reasons, no potman to wash the cups! Short staffed! And the best - no cups!!! although I could see several behind the bar. When I asked why couldn’t they wash a cup so I could have a hot drink she got even more defensive and told me to leave 😂😂😂. Was going anyway because I like a hot drink with my food. Left and found a lovely little restaurant (no shortage of food establishments in Porthcawl) was waited on by a very nice polite lady, had a beautiful pot of tea with extra water as standard so she did me a favour and they lost out on a good regular customer and £54 when times are hard for hospitality.

Food was good. Large portions, very slightly high price for the quality. No wow factor though. Clean enviroment and friemdly staff.
