Toby Carvery in Bridgend

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff at Toby Carvery, Bridgend. So helpful and thoughtful, making a family meal with 2 young children and a baby a really pleasant experience. The food was lovely and Siobhan, the waitress was exceptional - a real credit to your restaurant. We look forward to returning again and again ………….. Thank you 🙂

Visited here Sunday the 13th. It was such a busy day, but despite that the staff were amazing and went above and beyond for us. The food was absolutely gorgeous and beautiful presented. Would definitely recommend going here and I will certainly be returning again.

I picked up a takeaway Sunday lunchtime. As expected, it was busy but the queue moved quickly. The guy cutting the meat was very helpful and explained clearly about the various containers to be used for the take away. The containers allow for a good amount of veg. It wouldn't all fit on my dinner plate at home but I did finish it all in one sitting.

Lovely food, friendly staff, great value for money. What more could you want from a carvery?They were even nice enough to give us our desserts in a doggy bag, as we'd utterly stuffed ourselves (who doesn't at a carvery?) and couldn't manage them at the time.

Made a booking for breakfast, turned up had to queue with groups who had just turned up on the morning so what's point offering slots, and there was no eggs at the hot plate, and when they did bring them out, was by the dozen so was hard to get a fried egg ( any egg ) with your breakfast. 1 good thing was the sausages was nice.

The food was full cooked, the menu cheap and the staff very friendly and welcoming.I did avoide the beef as it looked fatty and was dribbling blood - but that's just my personal taste.

Pretty shocking. The Mac n cheese isn’t even macaroni. It’s over cooked pasta and cheese and the roast was over cooked. The vegetables were just mush.Edit: So you are asking me to give you more of my hard earned money for food I won't eat? Are you mad!

Returned after a long absence brought about my pandemic. Lovely to see two longstanding, very helpful and good fun staff members, waitress and chef. Nice meal enjoyed by the entire group. Thanks.

Three of us visited on a Friday afternoon and had an great experience. Service was excellent and the man serving us and the young man on the carvery station were so pleasant and friendly (forgot to get names). The man on the carvery was so friendly and chatty which was lovely and I couldn't speak higher of his service! The food and portion sizes were both fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tables and the pub itself were really clean as well; we hope to visit again soon.

Walked in. Tables fully booked for the evening and would be a 30minute wait but was offered to enjoy the same experience in the pub. Friendly staff although when going to toilet noticed around 40% of the tables were empty throughout the time we were there. We could of eaten our food and left before they were required.We had a carvery each, the meat portions were skimpy compared to the last time we visited in 2015. The yorkshires didn't have much flavour to them and the roast potatoes weren't great. The gravy was nice.The refillable Pepsi machine tasted very watery so had to get refills from the bar which was time consuming as the regulars kept ordering pints.Used the baby change before leaving, it was in the disable toilet. We didn't use it due to the cleanliness in there.Sunday is a busy day for them so I assume they were probably having an off day. May try again in 10 years time as drove 40 minutes to get there as it is the nearest toby carvery since the majority of them have closed down now.
