Castle Gate Indian Restaraunt in Caerphilly

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. They were caught off guard with a really busy Tuesday evening and an absent delivery driver so our order was late and missing some items, but they were so apologetic and went above and beyond to get us our food. And I can't tell you how incredible the food is! Won't be going anywhere else from now on, it's easily the best Indian restaurant in Wales. Thank you :)

Coming there Friday night as my girlfriend says it's amazing. I've travelled the world food tasting so this is going to be exciting for my viewers and for myself.

Awful delivery service, over an hour late. When I called them they didn’t know if the order had left or made, when they eventually answered the phone.Had a meal there recently in the restaurant and the service was just as bad.Food was ok but the experience was disappointing Staff haven’t got a clue what is happening.Such a shame as it used to be much better.

Really really disappointed with our take away, first of all we had to warm the food up, it was barely warm, very little flavour to every dish we had ordered, and the egg fried rice was tasteless, absolutely gutted 🙁, won't be ordering again from here.

10/10 in every aspect! I come here regularly and every time we are greeted by friendly faces and excellent service. The food here is top quality and made to order. Me and my girlfriend have never had a bad experience, definitely would recommend to anyone thinking of coming here!

Really disappointed, last time was bad gave them the benefit of the doubt but just had another tasteless, watery curry. The onion bhaji, naan bread AND poppadoms were burnt! The only thing done correctly was the rice... It's not exactly cheap either. When you pay £30 for a takeaway for two you expect it to at least not be burnt and dare I say for it to taste good. Won't be going back.

The worst ordering experience I’ve ever had. Waited hours for delivery, couldn’t get through to the restaurant and didn’t get updates when requested. After 40+ calls I got through to be told my order wasn’t even ready. Even the phone line was shocking and I was hung up on. After hours of waiting, no order, no refund and no explanation. I appreciate there can be delays at busy times but the issue hasn’t been dealt with and the little customer service I did receive was appalling. 0 star rating.

Everything from service to food was just amazing! The whole team went above and beyond to cater for us during dining, especially Oola and Robi! Can’t wait for our next visit!

Food was great.... atmosphere was wonderful but what stood out was the staff.....I have never eaten anywhere that the staff was so friendly.....My first time having Indian food and it was an experience of a life time thanks to the staff.....Would recommend 10.........

Was previously a 5 star review two year agao when initially reviewed. Still does a nice curry but service isn't great any more (always late / slow with orders and get confused with orders, answer mutliple phones at once and leave one on the hook whilst they deal with the other call etc) which is a shame because this has always been our "go to" Indian. Not sure if ownership or management has changed but haven't been impressed with them the last few months. That said, if you're happy to let the chaotic service go over your head, the food is still good.
