Traditional pub, good if you have children Nice play Park outside. Good selection of drinks and tables inside and outside. Food was ok 👍 Had Sunday lunch menu, good portions and range of vegetables. Starters were nice as well.

Best pub in the area, great food,fantastic staff who go out of their way to make sure that you have a great time, give it s try, you won't be disappointed 👍👍👍

Dog friendly pub. After a lovely walk the dogs had sausages and water, so great place to stop by for refreshments for them, as well as us.

Can’t thank Josh, Rachel and all the staff at the fisherman’s rest enough for a fantastic night celebrating my mother in laws 80th birthday tonight. From the time of booking to the night itself josh couldn’t do enough for us to make sure everything was just right. The buffet was outstanding, there was a good variety of food and something for everyone, the amount provided was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were constantly checking everything was to our satisfaction throughout the evening. I would highly recommend the Fisherman's Rest - Bedwas, Wales as a venue for a family celebration.

Had a family gathering here today , 16 for Sunday Lunch , 3 tables all set out for us in the conservatory area , waiter came over and took our orders for drinks , and after 2 pints ordered the food , choice of Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Pork , I went for lamb & pork , we were all served the same time , food was stunning with plenty of veg and your own jug of gravy 😋, desserts followed which was fabulous Biscoff cheesecake , would definitely return , very friendly organised staff and a great setting , Well Done Fisherman’s Rest 5 stars . 🤠

17 if us for dinner and drinks for a big birthday, and we had a lovely evening. Ordered food in advance as there were so many of us and food arrived at the same time for all, except one meal mix up, but not too long a wait for that. Everyone enjoyed their food and we ordered across the menu. Very good value for money and lovely staff. Looking forward to going back again.

First time in this pub and left very happy, food was really tasty, would recommend the ribs and great to have really chunky chips.Staff very friendly and good all round experience and will be going back very soon.

Visited here again last night for food and a few cocktails and had a fabulous evening. Josh and his team are so friendly and work very hard to make sure you have a brilliant time. The food is oustanding with huge portions, super tasty and brilliant quality. The cocktails were also a nice surprise. There's plenty of choice on the menu to suit everyone. Highly recommend. We will be back.

I had my wedding anniversary here about two weeks, the service was so personal thanks to Joshua jones for organising and putting some fab ideas in to it from the deco to the drinks on arrival and the price was fantastic too.

A group of 7 ladies we went to celebrate our friends birthday. It took 45 minutes to get our order in. Some had starters which to be fair were lovely although our birthday lady's order was completely forgotten. We asked for our mains to be brought when they finally brought the forgotten starter. We had a mixture of Sunday lunches and food from the menu. It took ages again to receive our mains. The young man who took our order even wrote down all our peculiarities (and there was some). However, I have to say the mains was a let down, I order hunters chicken and sweet potato chips, my chips came out with fish bites. This was changed. I liked the peppercorns under the bacon but some people won't like this unexpected hit.One of our party ordered just chicken and the tureen vegetables but was given potatoes and Yorkshire pud which she specifically stated she didn't want. The meat was tough and the roast potatoes were not roasted or cooked in the middle. We asked for them to be changed which they were, with nicely brown cooked potatoes. Some of us had dessert and I have to say they were amazing and well presented. We noted that several diners had arrived after us and had been served and eaten well after us, one table even had two sets of diners eat and leave before we got our mains. Something clearly went in communication here as there was loads of staff and as I said the young man who took our order, eventually, wrote everything down to his credit.We are not as fussy as this seems, we like good wholesome cooked food. We noted the fresh new look of the place since being flooded. But hope the service,/main course issues can be ironed out.
