Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club & Restaurant in Caerphilly

Yes the indoor bowling centre is ideal for self made entertainment I enjoy every minute I play .The restaurant is well fitted out ideal for Weddings .Funerals and other party activities .Food well presented .I've had good lunches after Bowling .The Bar is on par with any outside Public Bar .its a very good place to go Week days and Sunday Lunches .I'm so sorry to report that since the covid .the Restaurant has been closed. The Bowling has started back playing on a three day play .Monday Wednesday and Friday .if you fancy a game .you will be made very Wellcome . Starting at 10am 12 pm 2pm 4pm .

Never open not very welcome when is open

A great facility which, unfortunately, is under- used. Ideal to take youngsters on a rainy day to learn a new and very skilful game.

A party of 13 arrived.We were seated , bar staff perfectly pleasant.Unfortunately although our sunday lunch was very nice we were limited on choice of meat as they seem to have ran out of lamb.Desert was very disappointing and choice even more limited.my brother in law had gravy spilt over him and nothing said to compensate really poor.even mmore limited

Reserved a table for Sunday lunch last weekend and this was probably our 20th visit and yet again it did not disappoint. From the friendly staff to the realistic prices on beverages and quality of meals this venue is definitely a favourite of ours.

New chef and menu excellent customer services. Lovely and clean. Friendly atmosphere. Great place to bowl and have lunch or evening meal. Would need to phone for opening hours

Open to the public. Bar and restaurant good. (Function room available for hire). Bowling experience is great. Friendly, good and helpful tuition for beginners and club bowling which is both sociable and enjoyable.

Booked a table for 23 for my Daughter's 18th Birthday at 2pm 8 weeks prior to the engagement, once arrived just after 1.30pm we was met by a very lovely lady who told us table was ready took us 20 mins for us all to get a drink as there was only one person serving behind the bar, once seated waitress came to take orders only to tell us there was only so many Pork, beef and Turkey dinners available but plenty of Lamb that a £1 supplement had to be paid a majority of us don't like lamb so was scrambling around trying to make sure every one had something they liked, the waitress had no clue on how to take orders for such a big party in which a family member ended up taking charge and taking the orders, Yorkshire puddings was extra if you didn't have the beef but most of us ordered them only for them come out and say they had ran out, could not fault the meal meat was lovely and was plenty of veg for everyone it was now 3.10pm some of us still eating main meal and they called last orders at the bar stating they normally shut it at 3pm, not once was this stated when booking that they shut at 3pm so spent the rest of the meal without a drink and dessert orders hadn't even been taken from then on all waiters and waitresses were clearing all tables around us making us all feel very uncomfortable and rushed and we could not wait to get from there.... As many family members travelled quite far for the meal it was a very disappointing afternoon with terrible service....

Excellent place for bowling, learning to bowl and meeting people. There is a restaurant where you can have lunch for a good price and excellent food. Or you can just have a coffee and a chat, if you want something stronger you can have that too. Recomend this place highly.
