Pontygwindy Inn in Caerphilly

I came with 14 of my family for my birthday meal and we had the upstairs tables which was great as it was private and had lots of space for us all. Food was lovely and easy to order. Prices are good and they accept blue light discount so our bill is always a decent amount. This time visiting they didn’t have 1 out of the 2 vegetarian options (limited veggie/vegan options) and as I didn’t like curry I asked if they were able to make anything else. They were able to cook me some veggie sausages and put them inside a burger bun which came out really nice. Would definitely recommend this place, my family always come here for occasions or just general get togethers and we love it!

Great service from lovely staff. Good drinks selection. The food was very good and the portions were huge! Especially the big burger, no one could finish the entire thing. We'll definitely be back.

Went here for food over a week ago. Fair to say I wouldn't even serve the food to a dog. How can somewhere get away with serving utter rubbish like that? Definitely will not be returning and I advise people not to waste their time and money visiting either.

Great local pub. Good selection of drinks in bar area. Seperate restaurant area serving fantastic food. Good choice on menu and well priced - I had the sirloin steak, cooked to perfection! Popular beer garden out front which comes into it's own in the summer. Playground for kids, lots of parking. Best of all it's dog friendly! Well behaved dogs accepted in beer garden and in the bar area. If they're good they may even get a treat or 2!

Superb value pub food! I had fish and chips. really good portions size and good value for money. Service was fast, Looking forward to going back. good to see the place being turned around the last few months

They started serving cocktails this week! I ordered a Woo woo, which tasted amazing. There's Woo woo, Sex On The Beach, Long Island Iced Tea and The Godfather. Always get a fantastic welcome from Shaun and Amanda. My dog loves it here too, there's water and dog treats and great company!

Visited last night.Warm welcome.Good service.Steaks cooked to perfection.The burgers on the table next to us looked amazing so we will try them next time.

My steak was a little overcooked but was still delicious! The pub had a very welcoming, homely atmosphere. Toilets weren't overly pleasant.

Really pleasant and helpful staff. Food was delicious and Shaun / Sean came out from the kitchen to check if our meals were to scratch and apologised for any wait we had- which we did not. Happy to come again. Enjoyed immensely.

Where do I start. Pre ordered food took 1hour 45 to turn up, food was sub par, desert didn’t turn up until prompted twice.The food shown is supposed to be a Christmas dinner. It is supposed to include seasoned veg and pigs in blankets.The turkey dinner was even worse. It looked like like sliced tinned meat. I’m sorry for the bad review, but there were no positives.
