The Cross Oak in Caerphilly

The place was welcoming and the staff were very nice but the food really let it down. I ordered the Chicken Pasta Alfredo and it came with macaroni noodles that were thin like the ones you get in instant pasta pots and were either overcooked and mushy or reheated, overall it was bland. Though I must say the garlic bread that came with it was to die for! The food really didn't condone the price and I felt a bit ripped off by it but the staff made the experience a lot better so it feels right giving three stars still despite what I didn't like about the food.

Nicest beef and ale pie I've ever eaten, friendly staff even offered me bread to soak up the gravy .Nothing too much trouble, haven't visited for a while due to COVID , but will be back brilliant

Fantastic local pub, with killer potion sizes. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! The waiting staff also make it a very warm atmosphere.

Lovely pub. The staff are very kind and friendly. The food menu is very large. Food is very tasty and at competitive prices. I will definitely return.

5 stars for friendly staff, 5 stars for speedy service. 5 stars for the food, I had the salmon and potatoes I asked for peas instead of salad,and they were happy to accommodate my request. The salmon was cooked to perfection soft and succulent. Husband had the corned beef pie and said it was very nice. We will be back 😁

Outstanding!!!! Went here with the girls from work and the guys serving were all so lovely! Best spinach and ricotta cannelloni I’ve EVER had!!! Will definitely be visiting again yum 😋

Thank you so much for pulling out all the stops on Christmas day to cook us an amazing Christmas Dinner. Absolutely stunning food and so much of it, plus all the staff were so lovely. Talk about service with a smile and they were the one's giving up their Christmas day for us, you're amazing thank you. You made our day so very special and apparently my sister and her in-laws had a great family celebration with you on Christmas Eve too and said the food was outstanding plus the staff. So it's a thumbs up from us and definitely look forward to this year's Christmas celebrations with you again. Thank you all so much

First time at this pub so can't comment on the inside due to covid restrictions, but they've done a great job with the beer garden! Staff were ensuring people stayed at their tables and were going a great job. Lamb burger and 'dipster' chips were gorgeous and the fudge cake delicious. All the food was presented really well. Lovely to see local business nice and busy!
