Cadwaladers Mermaid Quay in Cardiff

We decided to stop here for refreshments. We got a table but it was very cramped and close to another table. When a child squeezed past from the next table, he nearly swept everything off the table with his coat. The menu was ragged and dirty (I had to wipe the pages with anti bac wipes). We ordered drinks and cakes and the hot drinks were good but the milkshake didn't look great considering the cost. We had to chase up our cakes (scones) and they asked us for receipt but we weren't given one. To be fair, the staff were really helpful and got this sorted for us. We moved tables to get away from some screaming children. There is no toilet here. The hand sanitiser was dirty.

One star short of a five, because they didn't accept cash currency. Really unusual, it is Legal Tender after all.I just wonder, would they have turned us away if we didn't have bank cards?Ice cream was lovely, but I don't think I will be going back.

Nice ice cream but service was poor. Went in 5.15 when they were open until 6. Were only told when we went to order that they were not doing sundaes, waffles or hot food. Then had to wait 25 minutes for a scoop of ice cream and then at 5.50 were told they were shut and asked to leave before we had finished eating

First time in this place and wow is all I can say. The staff were so lovely and made a big fuss of my dog. Gave him treats and they even sell dog ice cream. Sat inside and had coffee and it was spotless. Well done this is my new regular coffee place during our walks.

Lovely little ice cream parlour with a great selection of treats. A warm stop in cold weather for a hot drink and a cold desert. We had a banana and caramel waffle and Cadburys crunchy waffle. Highly recommended.

Friendly, helpful staff. Stunning white hot chocolate. Tasty caramel shortcake. Lovely view over the bay. Saw some lovely looking pizzas and toasted sandwiches being served! Will come back to try these!

Cadwaladers is a very popular take-away and undoubtedly the best place to have icecream when you are in the Cardiff Bay area. My wife and I loved the incredible ice-creams here, which are all locally sourced. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. They also have a lot of spaces for dine-in and the view towards the Cardiff Bay is lovely. Overall, a good place and would highly recommend.

Spent a few days in Cardiff and this was by far the best place we ate at. Drink tasted so amazing. Views from the cafe are beautiful. Food was perfect...if you are ever in the area definitely try this place because you won't regret it. Brilliant service too 👍

Friendly staff and great location with view over the bay. The ice cream was absolutely delicious too (I had raspberry ripple - very creamy and fruity and included actual intact raspberries which is always refreshing.) My companion said their coffee was tasty, better than other offerings in the same area.Honestly I only gave 4 because the pricing on some items seemed a little steep.
