Chance & Counters in Cardiff

Super atmosphere, really good food and selection of drinks. The staff were amazing and talked us through the bewilderingly large selection of games. They really took the time to get to know us and make sensible recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Plenty of games to choose from, staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their job and the food was great specially the onion rings 😁😍👌

What a gem in Cardiff!! Great game selection, super sweet staff who are proud of their establishment (and should be) and the food…. Oh my gosh.. we had hot drinks which were heaven, nachos and onion rings, vegan burgers and buffalo cauliflower wings (over the coarse of two visits!).. each item was just next level delicious and we ate way too much!! All while playing Azul among other friendly patrons. Definitely visit, and spend a couple hours!! Good much to you, we hope to be back as we loved Cardiff as well!!

A great place for an afternoon of board games. Huge range of games with knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff who will point you in the direction of games that meet your game preferences. The food is tasty and good range of drinks from milkshakes, to hot drinks and alcohol. If you like playing board games I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Well worth a visit if you've not been before, or haven't been in a while. Great selection of games that are ever-growing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who clearly work there because they love board games. Cosy seating, good food and drink selection. The only negative is that it's not easily accessible for anyone less mobile, but they do acknowledge this on the website. Highly recommended.

We booked a table for the four of us and it was an absolute blast. We arrived a little bit late, but they were really understanding and even allowed us to finish our game of Dragoon before we left. The food and drinks are entirely vegan, but don't let this dissuade you because everything we had was amazing (I recommend the chilli nachos!). All of the staff were excited to have us, and helped us choose what to play with a smile. Their love for board games is clear as day, I wish them nothing but success. We'll deffo be back!

Came here with my partner for a 4 hour session. We had such a good time! The food and drinks were great, the dirty loaded fries are to die for! It's super cosy and the staff are very friendly. The selection of games was much larger than I expected so there's definitely something for everyone. We will definitely be back again! :)

We love Chance & Counters and are regulars there. The service is always brilliant - everyone is super friendly and ready to help, whether it is to take an order or recommend a game. Food is delicious and always served quickly, too! And their selection of games is 👌🏻. There have been so many times when we’ve walked out thinking ‘we’re going to buy that one!’. Keep up the great work, team!

Great place to spend a few hours playing a game over lunch. The staff were really friendly and helpful, recommending a really fun game to play. Would recommend it as a great place to go!

Absolutely incredible place! The food was absolutely amazing, if you go definitely get the loaded fries. One of our group is coeliac and the entire menu can be made gluten free and there were so many vegetarian and vegan options which was fantastic and left spoilt for choice!! Such a huge selection of board games too. What a great concept for a cafe. Will definitely be coming back!
