Best fish, chips and other bits in Llandaff north and Whitchurch

Lovely place to get fish and chips, however on this occasion I bought a Chinese from next door and only wanted a large bag of chips from here to accompany it.. I had to wait 15 mins in a very slow moving que to get them. Upon getting to the counter the very nice people behind the counter are moving and packaging up things at a snails pace and are totally oblivious to the large que outside forming.. on a rainy day when the que is equally as large (as they often have an unnecessarily large que) they must loose so much buisness with people not wanting to wait in the rain.. Moral of the rating... please go faster and please train your staff to package/serve faster like other fish bars manage to and if needed cook more efficiently to help with speed. My go to place is Victoria fish bar in Whitchurch who are fantastic with their food too but winning the side with their efficiency in speed.

The staff are so kind and thoughtful and the fish & chips are amazing. I make the effort to drive here from Radyr because they are the best. The staff wrap the chips separately from the fish so that the fish is still crispy when I get home. They even gave my partner a free replacement sausage when he dropped his on the floor! 😊

We travelled from Newport because of the good reviews but to our disappointment we found this shop to be overpriced and overrated.The chips were soggy and warm and the batter fell off the fish and was extremely greasy.Unfortunately due to our experience we would not recommend eating here.

Always attentive.I enjoy a large cod, battered and cooked fresh. Even a regular chips is enough for 2.Victoria pies as they should be, kept in the warmer and with crispy pastry and nice "runny" contents. Unlike the Posh Fish n Chip Shop in Llandaff, NOT a Victoria pie(advertised as one!!) dry in the middle and microwaved!!! batter always soggy as well, dumping these guys for 5 Star.

Nice place. The fish was very nice. The chips and mushy peas were okay. Price is reasonable. Staff are friendly.

Very reasonably priced food! Spent around £14 for 4 people. The battered sausage is truly amazing but the chips aren’t the best in terms of takeaway chips. Not bad chips, just not the best. The staff were also really friendly and didn’t mind us taking forever to decide what we wanted.
