Maelfa Fish Bar in Cardiff

Lovely staff always give a warm welcome, good quality food, ingredients, and they care about their customers and community. They treat everyone with respect no matter who you are. The staff work really hard to keep their customers happy and satisfied. They provide a very professional service. The staff are polite, kind natured, they give generous portions of food. Chips are cooked to perfection, nice, soft and fluffy inside. They are one of the best in my opinion.

As a carer, a client requested that I bring home a bag of fish and chips. I was most impressed when the server asked me if I had, had lunch. When I said I haven't, as I'm working, he offered to give me lunch to take away. I thanked him but declined his offer. I was very impressed by his kindness and thoughtfulness.

The best chippy in Cardiff! The chicken in the strip burgers are unreal and the chips are always perfect! Portion size is great and price is affordable.. the staff are always smiling and it’s such a nice atmosphere! Love this chippy

The chips are alright, but everything else is horrible. Card reader never EVER working, they always want cash, but the most awful thing about this chip shop is that it is nothing more than a meeting place for all the local lowlife, with the staff actively encouraging the foul mouthed delinquent behaviour from all of the local 'disfunctional problem types' of which there are many around the Maelfa area.

The fish is cooked to order which, though you have to wait a bit, means it's cooked to perfection. By far the best battered fish I've had in years and the chips portions are massive!

Went in for a chicken tikka kebab on the recommendation from one of my mates. Service was quick, food was great and the staff were helpful and friendly. I will be back.👍

Very good quality fish. Mushy peas, Irish Currey and chipea are good too. Love the chicken and land Donner kabab too.

Went to the Maelfa fish bar today I had 2 large cod & a small chips at my request they kindly wrapped them separately I can honestly say the best fish & chips I have had in years
