Mama's Indian Takeaway in Cardiff

We live locally and have enjoyed many takeaways from Mamas. Unfortunately after today I will not be returning. For the money spent, the food was not enjoyable, with most having to be thrown away. The quantities of meat and vegetables was very small in comparison to the sauce. All foods lacked salt. It felt like no effort had really been made. I very rarely write reviews but feel it’s only fair to others who might consider Mamas.

I've been there about 20 times and like the food. They often throw in some extra onion bhargis too. One good thing is that they do offer lower oil options so you can just mention this as you order.Lots of reviews have mentioned slow delivery times and mixing up orders. One order was mixed up, but that was on new year's eve so I guess it was just very busy. Another thing I'd suggest is waiting at least 5-10 mins longer than the 30 mins they say, as it's unlikely to be that quick. I've never used the delivery option.

SCAMMERS,Never order from this restaurant. They are scammers taking people's money away, especially students's.I ordered my food around 11 on deliveroo and the restaurant accepted the order..Its been more than an hour from what time it was supposed to arrive..NEVER ORDER FROM THEM..

I never feel the need to leave reviews however I feel compelled to do so after multiple cases of awful service. Last night was the final straw which is a shame as we had previously enjoyed the food. After placing an order which came significantly later than expected- we were missing several items.After phoning up they wanted me to come and collect the missing items which I couldn't do and also expected me to pay more which is ludicrous! It meant that friends ended up being without food and it ruining our evening. It felt like talking to a brick wall but expected the items to arrive as they said they would deliver them. They never came but they still had our money and didn't even receive an apology.This is following times where a birthday meal was delivered 3 hours late despite chasing and another time where it was delivered 2 and 1/2 hours late.Never have we had so many issues with one place before.

I cannot review the food becuase I've still not eaten it yet - I have however eaten here both pickup and delivery on several occasions and it's been really good. Tonight is a complete disaster and I'm already late for my night shift becuase I'm still waiting for the food to arrive.I placed an order at 20:15. Total £50 order for 3 night shift emergency service workers. I called at 21:30 to be told its leaving the restaurant shortly. I recalled at 22:05 for an update and it had left. I'm currently sat here waiting at 22:15 and I should of already left for work. My colleagues have already gone!! Totally pointless me even having the order but with very little sympathy on the phone I doubt I'll be getting a refund either!

I hate writing negative reviews but this takeaway was so shocking I had to write a review. This is literally the worst Indian I've ever had. The takeaway was 20 minutes late, annoying to start. I ordered the king prawn special for £10 plus, the only thing special about this was the lack of prawns, I had 4 prawns, 2 medium sized and 2 small, the rest of the tandoori was giant onions. The tandoori itself had little to no flavour. The rice was luke warm and the naan was raw, disgusting and inedible. So disappointed and won't be ordering again especially for the money I spent!

Absolute joke I ordered online a few months ago they took my order food never turned up tried to get a refund via PayPal to no avail so went to the shop and sorted it.Just ordered again tonight but this time called the shop told 45 mins to 60 mins for delivery. Called the shop just after an hour to be told my food is out for delivery low and behold its been another 40 mins so far and no food. The shop is now shut so had to order food else where.Will not bother using them again

They really put customers first, I had a special request which they sorted out quickly. The food was brilliant, both the chips and the curry was perfect, the boxes are very good value and there are so many options to choose from. We will definitely visit them again.

First time trying Mama's and we will definately be using them again. Food was gorgeous, no greasy pools floating on the top when you open the tub, just good quality ingredients and cooking. The batter on the bhaji was tasty and crunchy. We used Uber Eats app and delivery was on time and food was hot. Would definitely recommend Mama's 👌🏼

Compliments to the chefs. 😎Very nice and good customer service: They always ask for feedback after ordering which for me demonstrates how much they value each individual customer.Also, having read some of the negative reviews: it's clear that some people have no idea what they're talking about and are simply looking for attention.You should expect to wait a while if you don't want rushed food. If you want fast food then go to McDonald's, simple as. 👍Nice one Mama's. Love you
