We are quite used to Mibdle Eastern restaurants but were disappointed with the food at this place. We went for the shared mixed grill and it was honestly tasteless and flat. Didn't taste fresh either so not sure if it was fully prepared on the day... We wouldn't go back to this restaurant.

Wow wow wow delicious food best I've had in a while. In Cardiff for a couple of days and googled the best halal eatery with Mowlana coming at the top. Ordered the lamb and tıkla skewer no. 17 last night and it did not disappoint. Gutted its closed tonight otherwise I would've popped in for round 2.

My partner and I were on our second night of our visit to Cardiff and were looking for a place to eat when we chanced upon this lovely restaurant. We both never had Persian food before and decided to take a risk as it was something new.As we walked in, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We were sat at our choice of table and my partner and I picked the corner where the ambience was quite relaxed and comfortable. The food was simply mind blowing and we didn't wait as too long for it to arrive. I had the sea bass which was fried to perfection: the meat was moist and flaky and not overtly greasy. The saffron rice it came with was soft and fragrant and just went well with the fish. My partner's chicken Joojeh was deeply flavoured, also with saffron and was tender and quite juicy. Also, I've tried other stuffed grape leaves in other restaurants but Mowlana's Dolmeh were probably the best ones I've had. The herbs and spices used were a real treat to the senses.Overall, a fantastic restaurant which highly deserves a visit.

Brilliant restaurant that is very family friendly. The dishes were beautifully cooked in generous portions. It tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend their rice with barberries as it tasted amazing! Would also recommend trying their Persian tea. It was a great way to end the meal with Baklava and cake.

I went here quite by chance. The chef together for me some home made bread, hummus and the nicest aubergine starter I've ever had.Beautiful, family-run restaurant which deserves to be in Cardiff's top 25. 🏆👍😄❤️💯

Some of the best Persian food we have ever eaten. The owner and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. As tourists we didn't have a lot of cash on us, so we needed to find an ATM to withdraw money to pay for the food. The owner was nice enough to give us a discount for our trouble.

Perfect, best experience of Iranian food. 5 star for ambiance, food and service.Staff was very accomodating and suggested that we are ordering a lot of food, which we realised afterwards!Ordered a mix grilled platter which is served with 3 portion of rice and a separate kobaida (which was unnecesary).Platter is enough for any meat lover. Also, ordered starter - humus with naan, which was very delicious and fullfiling.Would recommend it to anyone with a taste for Iranian food.

As an Iranian myself, I was very pleased with how authentic and delicious the food was. I had the ghormeh sabzi and the mixed grill, and they were both amazing. The atmosphere is also great, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The second time I came here, I had the koobideh and fesenjoon; they too were incredible. Nothing but good things to say about this fantastic restaurant.

Delicious. friendly staff. Went there for my wife's birthday meal with our friends. We had mix grill for 2 and 3. Lamb chops. Meat were perfectly cooked and tender. Perfect seasoning and rice 😍. Non alcoholic beverages only serve at the restaurant but we were allowed to BYO Wine. The portion were big and we were too full to try the dessert menu. Parking were a bit hard to find but finally got a space after driving around 2nd time.

Came here for the first time, after hearing about it from people in my circle, seating is nice, ambience is good, ordered humus and some aubergine dish, tasted good with fresh Naan. Ordered Joojeh good presentation with fresh salad, but tasted too much salt, could not eat after 1st bite, manager came to rescue but planned to opt for othe dish from menu. Again bland taste, seems like basic no flavour at all. Had to leave food there. Manager said Sorry we will serve you better when you will come 2nd time. This was 1st and last time to this average place. Would not recommend anyone.
