New Empire in Cardiff

I never leave bad reviews but on this occasion I must. I just went into the New Empire to order food and looked at the menu to see what I could order. As required by Law, Natasha's Law, all allergens must be stated on the menu. They are not. There is a sign that lists foods people can be allergic to and says they are in some of the meals, If you have an allergy ask a member of staff for advice. Ok. So I ask " can you tell me which vegetable dishes have gluton in them" the answer was, "some do some dont" I asked for a pen so I could mark off what I could eat. She gave me a pen and just looked at me. A lady came in and she said " move away I have customer" Im errrr " what? " she again told me to move she had a customer. Well I am a customer! But I thought ok I dont want someones food going cold so I moved aside pen and menu in hand and waited. She served the lady and then just ignored me. She shuffled paper, picked things up put them down and refused to look at me leaving me standing infront of her feeling very uncomfortable. More customers came in and she happily served them. At which point I said " i'm sorry to of troubled you" and left. That is disgusting customer service by any standards.

Always had hot, tasty food from here. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices.

The staff used to be kind and friendly in here. Not anymore. I guess there under new management.

Very nice food and ready for collection quickly. Will definitely use again.

Friendly staff and quick service. The food was really good as well as the portion sizes. We are definitely coming back here again to try some other options from the extensive menu.

Not been here for many months not by choice but unable to do so - people say one Chinese is as hood as another - but whilst thats possibly true for some - it's not true gor New Empire. Everytime it's head and shoulders above others - food always tasty with fresh products. Yummy !

Busy and friendly.The food is tastey and freshly made to order. The menus above the counter are relatively simple. Note the vegetarian choice is limited and the section for them also lists some non vegetarian dishes

This is a great chinese takeaway. Staff are friendly service fast, but, with no lack of quality. My favourite 2 dishes are. Crispy duck in plum sauce, and, deep fried shredded beef, with, or, if you prefer without chilli.

The food is good and fresh at least but the sweet and sour chicken is often over-fried and a bit too "battery". The service is great though and menu is vast enough to offer all taste-buds something to savor.
