O'Neill's in Cardiff

Guy at the door, not sure if head door man or manager but had a massive power trip and no people skills. The way he was treating people was pathetic tbh. Needs to learn to to be respectful and communicate. Face of the business and not at all welcoming and friendly

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff that helped me in choosing a tasty meal and a nice pint with it. Loads of TVs to watch the sport too! Will definitely return.

Walked in early Saturday morning to reserve for 20 people for Sunday night. Took my phone , name , email and said they would email me confirmation. Nothing received. Walked in Sunday morning , said it’s “confirmed” and apologised for no confirmation. Fast forward Sunday night. We arrive , nobody knows of our reservation.Ask me name of who I reserved with ? Hair colour ? What did they look like? Surely check the work schedule and you will know ! All 20 are standing around. They say we have a space around the corner. Ok cool. We go there it’s 5 small tables of 4 (2 of which are taken). Anyway eventually they clear the area 40 mins later. We order drinks good ! Then for food nothing on the app works. Order at the bar. Food arrives. No silverware, no napkins. Another trip to the bar to ask. All the while it’s like we are bothering them for the basic necessities. Like napkins. Anyway. A 1 out of 5 is generous as I can’t rates lower. Come though Cardiff a lot with work groups. This is definitely off the list.Bottom line O’ Neill’s Cardiff is the last place I would go to. !

Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, cheap cocktails (that taste great too), amazing food (I only had the Drunken Mushrooms and Fries).The service is great too. I ordered fish and chips on the O'Neill's app, but a staff member informed me that the kitchen had closed and offered to go to the chip shop across the road and by me fish and chips from there as a replacement. That kind of gesture is what separates O'Neill's from most chain pubs.Would highly recommend.

Excellent mixed grill at a reasonable price and a good atmosphere for a Wednesday early evening.Lewis the server had a big smile on his face and was very attentive as he served me.

I went out for a meal with my work team for our works due and i was so disappointed about it, starter was okay I was the first one to have it because I have a gluten allergy however my main was last because they had to cook everyone’s food first and then clean everything and then cook mine which should be the other way round! I work in hospitality and that’s how we do it 🙁 lastly I ordered a dessert and there was plastic in there was not happy! The manager did ask if I wanted a drink but to that point I just wanted to go home. The main meal wasn’t nice chicken was over cooked and I got a small reaction from it and I didn’t feel too good

First time visiting here yesterday as we have always gone to The Yard across the road. I have to say it is a big improvement. The last time we were in The Yard for an international game it took 40 minutes to get served, in O'Neills it took 40 seconds!! Very impressed and will certainly be back.

Very Welcoming Staff, resolved an issue / confusion with booking so I wasn't left waiting around. Staff were friendly & communicated well & explained how to use App for offers, Good Deals & very reasonable prices, clean venue and very accommodating to my needs, Good variety of Food & Drinks on sale & covid guidance in place. Nice Decor too
