Rumney Fish Bar in Cardiff

Customer service is appalling, I rang up to order a plain base 16 inch pizza as my partner is allergic to tomatoes. I received the pizza but it wasn't plain at all. I rang them up and the person I spoke to had an attitude which was disgusting he said "I didn't know what I was talking to. I can't cook a pizza without tomato on there" and sent out a tomato base pizza knowing he was severe allergic to tomatoes. He was shouting and screaming at me which is really bad Customer service. I wouldn't recommend this takeaway as their attitude towards their customers is disgusting and vile, the only decent person was the delivery driver who couldnt be more apologetic. I have now had to phone an ambulance as he has had a severe allergic reaction. I only put the one star because of the delivery driver.

For a large chips, that was a very small portion for the price, know wonder I swapped to Big Fish a few doors down, if they're closed again, I'll try somewhere else, won't be back here again, even though the chips were very nice.

Bought Haddock & chips several times over the years, its is always excellent, cooked to perfection, simply delicious. Cannot recommend it enought

Ordered a takeaway beef and onion pie, fish and chips from here yesterday.. the pie tested strange, like it wasn't beef and onion. Rung them up to complain, they insisted it was.Have Spent all of today vomiting, struggling even to keep water down. Also the fish was full of bones.Will never touch any food from this place again. Would give zero stars if I could.

So rude. I was calling with no answer for over half an hour. Finally I got through, to simply add to my order. The response I got was terrible, no help at all and then Rumney Fish Bar putting the phone down on me. Never will I be ordering from there again!

Chips are lovely but my sausage in batter was very chewy the batter wasn't light and had a big hole in the one side of the batter.

Tried this place for the first time. Tried the fish but fish was rotten and vile… i called to explain and the owner offered me a replacement for free, i said i will next week as i dont fancy it anymore and left my details. Turned up a week later.. i explained the situation before ordering and yes they remembered my call soo i said can i have a free portion of chips instead of a fish they said ok but i was still charged again. Given this place a 2nd chance and it’s a waste of time. I rarely review but this was an experience i will not be happy going again.

Absolutely vile don't waste your money!The fish was full of bones, had all its scales and was clearly refried as it was dry and rubbery.For fish, chips, mushy peas, chicken kebab wrap and chips was £15!!

Been going here for years and years unfortunately gone downhill fish must of been cooked the day before absolutely disgusting large chips was gonna share with son I could count the chips on the plate and we had 5 chips each me and my son. My son said dad look at my fish cake I braved to try and almost cracked a tooth. Trying to reheat and reheat to no return from not selling fresh not giving customers terrible food. A shame when it was a really nice fish and chip shop one of the best around.

We ordered from here for the first time and I'm afraid to say, we won't again! Chips were soggy and very greasy, nice fish but batter was awful and definately wasn't fresh. Very disappointed with the quality of food.
