This is a really clean, smart, friendly restaurant. We had excellent service throughout, and delicious food and wine at very reasonable prices. So happy to have this place on my doorstep!

As usual very helpful staff - our guests were stuck on M5 for 2 hours and there was no problem putting back our booking until they arrived.Fantastic food on the tasting menu, so different from your usual Indian restaurant; our guests from the West Midlands (curry capital of UK allegedly) thought it was an "incredible meal".

One of the best Indian authentic food I found after 3 years in cardiff. They are basically karelian but the food is amazing. The ambience is nice too. I highly recommend anyone who want to try indian food.

Lovely menu, very different to the normal British Indian Restaurant menus. The starter and main I had were Ok. I think there will be better things to choose next time. Will return.

Salkaara is the gold standard for me now when comparing Indian Cuisine, and I'm yet to come across anything better. Wonderful authentic food, with dishes not normally found in "traditional indians", and the staff are just wonderful.

1. We attended the restaurant with a prebooking for 2 but were greeted awkwardly as whoever took the call had reserved the table but with no name. The restaurant was empty so instead of just seating us they made a song and dance about the table with no name before giving us the table!2. Once seated we waited 10 minutes for someone to bring us menus, in the end my husband had to go to the bar to ask for them.3. The starters were lovely but were very small for the price4. The mains were delicious and a very good size.5. The desserts were disappointing, we ordered the gulab Jamun it was very plain and lacked any flavour6. Over all the service was very POOR and SLOW having many times tried to get the waiters attention we had to leave our seats to ask for further drinks7. Ordered a large bottle of water but was only given 1 glass, had to get up again to find a waiter to bring us another. We won’t be visiting again.

Fabulous!! We had an amazing meal at Salkaara again last week. The staff are wonderful - so polite and attentive. The food is wonderful : would recommend the pakoras and the paneer for starters, the sea bass (fab presentation 😍), the mango and tiger-prawn curry, the Royal Lamb with its deliciously rich sauce …. There was nothing we didn’t love! Thank you to all the team for a lovely evening!

Me and the wife went for our first anniversary there, the food was amazing and the service is just exceptional. The staff were angels, we loved the surprise anniversary plate, made our night. Will absolutely be back there again.
