Not as good as it used to be, I was so happy when I found our stag was back open. The menu is reduced and full of mistakes, the food is still good but took ages to come and the coffees are no way near what they used to be, small and gone are the gorgeous mugs that used to add to the cosy comfortable decor. I appreciate that the staff were busy but the woman taking orders at the till was quite short when ordering and generally appeared to hate life.

the place is very warm and is very well attended. They don't skimp on the food and it's delicious!! The coffee is top notch... My congratulations to its owners who show the love and dedication they put into it every day. Recommended 100% !!!

Excellent breakfast, very abundant. It seems that the place has changed owners but I think they are doing things well, I felt very comfortable with the remodeling and the new style of food they serve, I think there is no other place like it in Cardiff

Stag coffee used to be my favourite cafe in Cardiff, and under its former owners it was comfortable and cosy with amazing furniture, soft plush seats and the best quality food.Under the new owners I experienced uncomfortable cold seats which seem more appropriate for garden furniture, very sparse decor. The food was awful - it came out cold and nearly everyone on the surrounding tables were complaining. I had eggs Hollandaise and the sauce was clearly from a packet, and I received one egg and one muffin for £8. Even my coffee wasn’t great. The menu needs a re do as it has mistakes all over, from simple spelling mistakes to words jumbled together. It’s such a shame as this was my favourite spot.

Not a great experience. Any breakfast over £7-8 and I'm expecting great things so for £12.50 (:-O normally I would have just left but it was raining and I needed coffee!) my expectations were high. The food was not long in coming but I wouldn't have minded waiting a little longer if it meant they were able to warm my beans up! I asked for my stone cold beans to be heated (and for some butter for the toast [who eats dry toast?!]) whilst drinking my much needed coffee (well, coffee flavoured milk) and they came back luke warrm which is still warmer than my feelings for this place!

Fantastic food, lovely service with hot water bottles and blankets whilst eating outside in the back garden. The breakfast burrito was superb.

I can't give this place enough stars for their amazing food. This is the best veggie full English breakfast I've had. The amounts were very generous and the taste was just perfect. When it started raining they gave us an umbrella (not that useful) but still resourceful. Lovely vibe and staff as well!

Lots of road works outside, but there is a garden at the back which is shielded from the noise.Friendly staff.Delicious food.I would recommend the coconut milkshake.I had two it was so nice.Reminded me of trips to Thailand.

Other than having to sit under a regular umbrella wedged in the table outside my visit was immensely pleasant, brilliant oat milk latte's which can be difficult (as a vegan bartender I know the struggle) but also the tofu scramble was amazing, though I struggled to eat it all I was thoroughly impressed. I still have them 5 stars because personally I don't find things like the umbrella situation a problem, I honestly enjoy going out my comfort zone and it offered quite a bit of charm to my time here!
