The Dough Thrower in Cardiff

Lovely, sweet restaurant. Really good choice of pizza's with veggie options. Slightly more on the pricey side. Staff were really friendly and accommodated our Gluten free friend. Donuts weren't very nice unfortunately, really doughy and chewy.

best pizza I ever had. The Menu is relatively samll, yet I coundnt decide what to order, since every topping combination sounds so good. Customer service was on point and the ambience was really nice. The Crust is beautifuly chared and makes it really rustic. Bring some cash because they cant accept tips via card.

Excellent Pizza... but the customer service doesn't match! Came in on Sat 21st May. We asked for drinks which included water. It never came, so we asked again, it didn't come, so we asked another member of staff... still, no water. At this point we though there might have been some sort of prank going on. We asked the first member of staff again and finally... just as we were about halfway through food - over comes the water. That, plus the fact we sat with empty glasses for our other drinks and struggled to get the attention of the waitress who looked lost and the other waiter who seemed to only be there to polish glasses and play on his phone. Customer service 101 guys, up your game!

Great pizza with a great favour. The Dough Thrower isn’t shy to push the boundaries in terms of what they can put on a pizza. Merging, blending and crossing over from alternative dishes. They are on the pricier side at an average of £15.50 a pizza but Wales has no competitor so be my guest Dough Thrower.

Truly amazing! some of the best dough ive tasted and the pizza was amazing! Its unfortunate I live 2.5hrs away as I would have this every week! Please come and open a restaurant in Plymouth Im sure you will be well received!

Wow, the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! Even better than the pizzas I’ve had when traveling through Italy.Can highly recommend the Midtown (Korean) Pizza!

First time visit for 3 out of the 4 of the group, my OH had visited previously.Good customer service started with some questions to Ben via email in regards to sending a copy of the menu and some menu changes (I'm not a fan of chicken wings but I heard good things about the Korean BBQ sauce from previous reviews and wanted to try this with chicken dunkers which they had no problem with doing, it was really tasty and it really needs to be offered as an option on the dips!).Pizza's (regular and calzone) were really good, will probably try a Detroit next time, might also get a takeaway and there seemed to be a good few takeaway customers during our visit which didn't affect our service at all.Our waiter was friendly and provided good service and others in our group said the food was really good.Was a lovely night for a belated birthday (13th).

Edit: heard from Ben who has gone out of his way to encourage me to return and honestly this kind of customer service is rare. Its nice to see a place stand by a product they clearly believe in.Got a takeaway earlier, it tasted alright but the cooking wasn't very good, The middle was stodgy and soggy and the cheese hadn't even melted thoroughly. I expected better at this price point.

So far, my favourite pizza in Cardiff. The dough is up there, but they really excel on the flavour and topping combinations.The restaurant is small and low key, which is great for casual eating and soaking up the food. The drinks selection fits well and the side menu makes a refreshing change for a pizzeria.Would recommend booking to ensure you get a table!
