The Live Lounge in Cardiff

Cheap cocktails during happy hour (2 for one.. i can barely remember😅), live music most days of the week (this is often cheesey)..and friendly staff. The venue is small, with a smoking area and upstairs bar, the venue is popular with students and is busy most nights of the week (Probably busiest place to go on Christmas eve).

Went here on a Sunday for "one" but the music and atmosphere was so good we stayed for hours. Great staff, reasonable prices and all round great day. Would highly recommend.

Great when the students have gone home! But usually crammed so tight in there with 18 year olds it's impossible to move! Bar sometimes 3 deep but they usually have lots serving. Prices used to be cheap in there, wasn't last week, unless they put prices up after midnight? It is free to get in though, even at 2am, so handy for last drink if there's not a massive queue! Seen some great live bands in there, but better in the week when it's not too crowded. Toilets are tiny too.

Not even worth one star! Me and my old man got turned away from this pub because we were brummies?! Absolutely shocking as we had nothing to do with football just a farther and son after a beer stopping at the hotel over the road. Bouncer was sound to be honest said it was the owner not him so a credit to him.

Had a great time. Drinks were reasonable and the live music was great! Will be going back soon 👍

Rude security refusing entry to armed forces since there were "too many students". Such a shame nobody can enjoy probably quite fancy and fun venue thanks to the stalwart defenders at the door. Not recommended if you're a small group of normal sober people looking for a chilled bar and nice music. 🙄

A superb venue, food is very good plenty of live music from midday until late. Great friendly staff too. Discounted drink opportunities. Artists do a couple of hours each with like 20 minute breaks between them. The entire team are safety conscious and supportive.

I love the place but it would be nice to have Mr Brightside on less often and different nights, the music feels often the same all the time a bit more variety would be niceThe drinks are great value for money,They have the widest variety of drinks than any other place I have been. Good atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. Only change is have different music nights

I have visited this venue often and have always enjoyed myself. Last Saturday was a completely different experience with rude staff and terrible service. Have always recommended to friends visiting Cardiff but never again. My daughter is a manager in one of Cardiff's most prodigious hotels and she will mot be pointing any visitors in that direction either.

Love the atmosphere. If you are visiting Cardiff you must go to The Live Lounge. We will definitely come back
