I have had several meals here and all have been absolutely lovely, compliments to the chef. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for the staff that work there. The pub is very clean and tidy. It's good for all ages, both young and old. Will definitely continue visiting here!!!

Visited here the other evening. Had a lovely meal - no problem with meeting our dietary needs either. Meals were really good priced too. Was made very welcome by Lauren on our arrival, she made sure everything was perfect throughout. Would definitely recommend & will be back again!

Disappointing visit. We’re fairly regular visitors. On this occasion we were disappointed with the food, we ordered the 3 dishes for £9.50. 2 of the dishes were cold and had to be sent back, they came back fairly quickly and Just hot enough, saying that, the mushroom dish which came with a sauce was very sickly.. too much sauce for the amount of mushrooms. The atmosphere by the bar was good at first, by 8.00pm there was just 5 guests including us and the atmosphere changed. Tables took ages to be cleared, lots of glasses on the bar area.Having said that the bar staff were friendly. We will visit again but just for drinks.

Very disappointing evening. Booked table for 6 tonight. Arrived with toy poodle only to be told pub is not dog friendly. Had previously visited Merrie Harriers in October 2021 with same dog and same friends. (On that occasion great food friendly staff and my dog was given water and dog treats)Tonight a member of the staff and unfriendly did show us a table at top of pub right by the door and very windy cold night and three of our diners were pensioners. This was because of the dog.As we tried to explain that this was a cold area and having the dog had not been an issue on previous visit, another staff member appeared and agreed we could go to the hard floor area and take a table.Three of use ordered sirloin steak and I received the medium rare when I had ordered well done. The peppered sauce was just a boat of gravy and that was what each of us had. Very small amount of chips and over cooked peas with three onion rings. Presentation was zero. Two other friend had fish and chips and batter was burnt and hard crispy that as the fork was put to the fish fragments of batter ricochet around the table. Again presentation dismal and 8 chips on the plate. Only one person found their meal acceptable and that was sausage and mash.No cutlery or serviettes on the table we had to fetch these from an empty table of which there were plenty of empty tables!!!!We opted for dessert as we hoped they could not mess them up.I had cold American pancakes…one tiny scoop of ice cream with one tinned strawberry and a teaspoon of berries and chocolate sauce UNDERNEATH the pancakes. Presentation zero taste disappointing.Spent approximately £140. At no time did anyone approach our table to enquire if we needed anything or ask if we were enjoying our meal. Hospitality zero.We will never enter the Merrie Harriers again and spent the evening discussing where we will eat on our next night out.

Cheap'ish' and cheerful venue. Happy to visit regularly. Bar staff were good to chat to. Food and drinks are very limited at present. Very restricted to what you can order. On the plus side the food was hot and again service good.

Lauren the General Manager was very helpful and suggested a really nice wine to go with our meals. Thank you for a great time! We will be back :)

Only leaving a one star as no option to leave zero. Not a friendly welcome. Staff were rude, when we left the girl serving didn't even say goodbye.Food was poor, when asking for a desert, was simply told no and she walked off.Quite disappointing as we've been going here for many years and food and service has always been great.
