Massive building, brilliantly and efficiently run. Fab staff and door stewards, felt safe and it's a lovely place to look at inside too. Plus they do stackable pint mugs that you can easily carry four of in each hand, joyful!

Had no bread in for our breakfast. However, food came out quick and the service team we friendly and helpful.

If you like grand old buildings this is one for you. weatherspoons have done a splendid job. The usual different choices of ale and food (reasonable priced).

Really big place with quick service, excellent service and selection of food. Reasonable prices and range of drinks clean toilets, nice staff, smoking area ... fairly busy 👍

Princely Palace of vertical drinking. I recently frequented this place twice in as many weeks and found the atmosphere strangely inconsistent. On one occasion, it was so noisy with laddish bucks-night antics we had to leave in haste. There was no safe quarter as the pub was full to the brim. On the second occasion, it was relatively tranquil. It's definitely the kind of place where you start your evening but not spend the whole evening. Looking around it's mainly the older clientele who seem to order meals. The drinks, as expected, are exceedingly cheap and, like other Wetherspoons I've visited in Cardiff, the bathrooms are adorned in superior decor. The place is so huge it has different drinking areas that reflect different moods, but is mostly horrendous when the younger crowds descend looking for cheap alcohol. A perfectly adequate drinking establishment but pick your times!
