We live locally and have been many times to eat. Yesterday, there were 12 of us and we were looked after extremely well from start to finish. In the last week we have visited two other fairly local establishments for meals, mainly due to family members visiting from the USA, although we hadn’t chosen each venue personally. A huge variety of food and venue styles, price etc, overall we found at the Tynant Inn that the ambience good, the food good and the service excellent. This was echoed by all that attended.

Excellent service from Ele, the food was amazing. The total evening was great, helped by great staff and a lovely atmosphere. It is well worth a visit for a lovely night out. Good value for money and will go back again. Thank you Ele for your great service, you helped make it a special night for us all.

Service was very welcoming on arrival and good for the start of the meal. The pate we ordered took awhile to arrive (with the sourdough being substituted for French bread, without being advised of this) during which the main courses turned up, so we had to send them back to the kitchen. The Glamorgan sausages were very good. The pie crust was nice but the filling lacked substance and the gravy was tasty, but a little lumpy. We might have considered pudding but were not offered the opportunity to order this.On the plus side there were 5 real ales and all were well kept.

Food was part warm part cold ,thats microwave food at its best.2 stars not 3 .Can do a lot better !!

We managed to get a table last minute today which was great. However our server who was lovely was very slow, we ordered drinks on arriving but had to chase several waiters for them. Once our food order was taken all was fine Nd our food arrived quite promptly. My son had a classic cheese burger and chips he's quite fussy but eat the lot and the burger was huge I had a salad which was really good, very fresh and lots of it husband had a fish finger sandwich with chips and loved it. Overall great value lovely place and the staff are welcoming, give it a try it's very good value for money

Catering for a large party of 14, when another large party was due in, the customer service was excellent. Food ordered separately at the bar and all came out together for the whole table. Food was very good and affordably priced. Thank you for making us all feel welcome.

Hands down the best food I have had all week. All of London could take a lesson from this restaurant. Mind boggling delicious. We got the wrong dessert and even that was incredible!! Highly recommended. I'll travel all the way from Texas to eat here again

A short visit on business trip. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced menu with lots of offers and choice. I had the lamb chops. Very nice

Arrived for Sunday lunch and all seemed ok until we sat down. We were positioned in the busiest part of the restaurant surrounded by kids running through the building, using the emergency exit to get to the kids play area. No fault of the kids but the management of the facility should advise customers that the emergency exit is what it says it’s for and not an alternative method of coming in and out all the time. Either that or alarm the door like most exits If they are used. A number of times the same staff member had to keep closing it or customers had to because the draft was running through the room making it fairly unpleasant to eat in.The service was ok. I felt sorry for the lady who served us as she was not well supported by other staff. They were either short or the other staff didn’t wish to help… I believe the latter as the attitude on them wasn’t particularly friendly either. The food was, I’m afraid to say very average. Seemed like the meat was the only fresh thing on our plate. Veg turned up watery, reheated and very bland. Portions were fine however.A huge shame overall as the pub is my local but the standards have massively dropped since they’ve re opened after the pandemic.

Staff were friendly and helpful . However paying over £40 for a family meal that was reheated in a microwave is not acceptable .Mashed potato was instant and had been heated so much that it was chewy . Kids cheese burger came out without any cheese , to which the waitress said that it was under the bun .. (smallest piece of melted cheese barely visible) .Nothing against the establishment what so ever and again the staff were friendly , however the establishment needs to up its game on food and consider cooking fresh .Avoid at all costs
