Sang the praises with regard to this pub when it reopened after lockdown. It had been much improved so we returned to a weekly visit for a few drinks and food. Last week a notice read ā€œNo fish or scampi due to Deep Fryer problemsā€ This week this has still not been resolved. Made a choice on our food but it took three choices before I could get a meal. Very, very poor attitude to paying customers - an indication on the table that there was a limited menu would have helped and just good manners!! My meal arrived which should have been Hunters Chicken - it was a burnt offering - the sole of my shoe would have been less tough than the chicken and I love crispy bacon but sorry to say it was cremated!! I should have asked for my money back but I was SO angry at our treatment I couldn’t allow my blood pressure to increase any more. Please treat customers with some respect and not let them order food and be told repeatedly ā€œHaven’t got thatā€ - so frustrating! Needless to say NEVER AGAIN

Dreadful experience last night. They said my booked table had been cancelled (incorrect) but as it was a 'quiet' night they did have a table. On this 'quiet' night it took 50 minutes before our 3 meals arrived. 2 of these meals had to be sent back. 1 steak was like leather and the grilled vegetables served with the chicken we're cold and uncooked. Another long wait for replacements meant we were eating our meals at different times. Drinks were served in plastic glasses.Never again.

Rhe service was excellent the food was absolutely delicious even my kids thought so an they're not easy to please, also the atmosphere was relaxed warm an very welcoming. No improvement needed in my eyes.

Clean welcoming establishment with easy access to both pedestrian and cars. Warm interior with helpful staff. Good prices and good practices - No glass outside only plastic! Very nice place to stop for a packet of crisps and a drink or a full meal.

My family and I came there on Fri 22nd April for my step-son’s 18th birthday. He’s autistic (Asperger’s) and is very particular about where and what he eats. He’s been coming there since he was about 4 years old. There was a party of 16 of us so a lot to accommodate for as well as the needs of my step-son. It was all done brilliantly. Food was fab and came quickly. My step-son was happy and loved every minute. The staff were efficient and attentive. Myself and my partner were nervous about it going well and it couldn’t have gone better. Thank you so much for a great evening for me and my family, and especially for my step-son too.

I been to this place many times and the food was not the best but I was keen to try out there new menu and give it another try.I will start with the pros, I love the new look of the place and also the menu has a lot to offer. Staff are nice and understanding. Food portions not the best for price.Negatives, the wait time even when the place is quiet is on average 30-45 minutes. This was just for a plate of Nacho's.I cancelled after 50 minutes of waiting and a few others also did the same. The village gave a refund and explained they have chef problems and them getting up to speed with.menu. also I don't think they are fast enough. If you have a great menu but not the chef's or speed to deliver then you will lose customers even when your quiet the times for food is not acceptable.Hoping you can sort this out otherwise you will get many more reviews of unhappy customers who cancel and go to harvester coed y gores which is busier but still quicker with food. This was my third visit as I like to give chances but there is still room for improvement and I hope they take this review and use it to improve where they fail.

***Update***Was invited back by the manager, Joe. Your staff upon arrival were lovely. We was seated at a table and the member of staff that came to take our order was a delight. He also accommodated my enquiry of a move of tables (due to my toddler becoming distressed from a strange environment and out of routine) which I am pleased to say, I applaud your inclusive approach to disabilities, not many places are so understanding and accepting of requirements.Food was lovely too. I had the mixed grill and upgraded to the rib eye. Children thoroughly enjoyed theirs too and even my toddler enjoyed a few bites of hers ā˜ŗļø. Had a chocolate fudge cake with custard for dessert and the children had a 'create your own sundae'. I didn't eat much of mine as it was a bit dry but in context, I left it for a while as I was tending to my toddler and her jelly so it was no longer warm. The children enjoyed it though and finished it off. There was a bit of a communication error towards the end but it was rectified so thank you.I want to thank the manager for the invite back to your establishment and it was a shame I never had the opportunity to thank you personally so I shall thank you via this with thanks to the male staff that tended our table tonight. Would you please pass my appreciation on to them please for all they did and thank you so much Joe!Staff are welcoming with great hospitality. Food was burnt and salad was shriveled. Was ok as was starving but doubt I'd order the same if I went back.
