Varsity Roath in Cardiff

This place is an absolute “must go” in Cardiff. The atmosphere, the concept, the food and the staff there contribute to the whole experience. Have come back multiple times and recommend to all of my friends. The owners and workers deserve a big congratulations for such delicious food and treating costumers so well. I have moved to Cardiff a few years ago and struggled to find places with such quality food (the one made with love). Hoping that more and more people get to know this place which is so unique compared to other restaurants!!

Amazing food!! I found this restaurant almost by accident but what a pleasant surprise! It was fantastic experience. We had six course tasting menus with selected wines. Francesco was very friendly and clearly passionate about the dish!I will definitely visit there again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Had a fantastic experience here.We had the tasting menu dinner, and I can honestly say that everything was delicious, and cooked to perfection.The cooking is not pretentious, but shows off the ingredients and the skill of the chef very well. The potions are generous.And it's not "cheap", but is actually very good value. It is not often the case to get such well executed food for a reasonable price. You could go to a place with a bigger reputation or in another city and pay twice the price for comparable quality.The waiter was very helpful, got our dietary requirements correct and explained everything in a polite, friendly manner.Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back.

Second time here in a month and both times the food and service has been consistently excellent. We were a group of 6 and 3 and everyone very much enjoyed their meals. It's a relaxed atmosphere and the menu is modern European & Italian. Great place for a formal or informal meal, I'm lucky to be local to it but worth the effort if not in/around Roath.

Came here with high expectations from reading reviews but must say that the expectations were not met.Starters were unfortunately quite salty and taste were one dimensional.Mains of fish were cooked well, but again the garnish around it left much to be desired. Pork was cooked well, not dry but again quite bland and lacked punch in flavour.Last but not least, pricing of food puts them into fine-ish dining territory in Cardiff but competitors in the region do offer more taste and presentation at that price point.Owners were keen on feedbacks so hope they’ll improve on their food!

Celebrated my wife's birthday at Kuro and we certainly felt the true meaning of "Kuro" .. not only we enjoyed every dish perfectly executed by head chef Michele, we were also wonderfully looked after by business partner Francesco and the new front of house Lorena ..Thank you so much ..Will certainly return and highly recommended. 😍

Really recommend this place- the food is such high quality, they have a great variety of wines all sold by the glass and the host was very friendly and accommodating. We were made to feel very welcome and not rushed out at all. One of the best meals we have had in Cardiff!

Absolutely amazing and deliciously enjoyable food! Francisco was so helpful and friendly and explained the menu to us in detail. We had a relaxed dining experience it was wonderful. Kuro is a real gem ❤️💎❤️
