Zizzi - Cardiff in Cardiff

We had a lovely meal – the food was excellent and I had a giggle with my friends. But there was zero atmosphere. Hardly any customers, no music - just felt like an empty school canteen.The real issue was the staff. They could not have tried harder to get us to leave as soon as possible. Main courses were brought out while starters were still being eaten, plates cleared away while people were still eating. We felt really hurried. They brought me the wrong meal so had to wait for a replacement to be cooked (did get an apology glass of prosecco – nice touch). But this delayed things and when we tried to order dessert we were just told the kitchen was closed and then presented with the card machine to pay.Overall it just felt a bit depressing, and the staff quite clearly just wanted to go home. Maybe don’t accept late bookings (we sat down at 8.30pm) if staff aren’t willing to give them the time to enjoy their experience.

No stars. Good starter. One meal cold. It took forever to return suitably heated. NO parmesan cheese, it's an Italian restaurant!!!

Went for lunch and very busy (due to concerts going on in the area). managed to get a table and ordered through the app. drink service was a little slow but seemed understaffed/very busy. Tried to use my student discount and wasn't able to due to the concerts going on, which was okay but could've saved some money! food was good and came fairly quickly considering the busy-ness

We didn't book as we had just arrived in the area, the guy in charge of sitting people, managed to squeeze us in which was very kind of him.Food was mediocre, but the price wasn't to bad so weighed itself out.Service was again mediocre, until I got Charlottes attention, who then kindly looked after us fully.I want to again highlight that Charlotte did not stop the whole time we were there, she was very efficient without being told what to do or looking for praise for doing so. She wore her mask correctly, was very professional, she cleaned every table as soon as people left, and even managed to make her customers smile, she deserves this recognition.4 stars as food wasn't the best

Very average food, slow service. Quite surprised as this chain is normally quite good.

Although it's a chain I really like the place and its rustic pizzas. Far too big for me to eat a whole one in 1 go though. Staff are really pleasant too.

Where do I start! There wet 6 of us.Picked Zizzis as it was recommended!When we arrived at the restaurant it took the Manager a good while before she acknowledged our presence!We were sat at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen and some random chairs! Bizarre!The waiter took our order but the first thing we requested was not available! He took our order but had to come back and check it twice!The starters came out and were quite nice! No complaints there!How many staff does it take a clear a table? They cleared up when they couldn't fit the mains on the table!Mains were mixed! Linguine with no taste! Chicken milenese not the best! Sea bass dry! Chips were not the best!Manager completely oblivious to anything going on in the restaurant which did not fill us with confidence!Lost of staff walking round but not really doing much! I'm guessing there was a shift change!Manager on site very poor! Manager following on was left in a difficult situation which he dealt with very well!We won't visit again

Really poor service today I'm afraid. Firstly we were put in a dark corner where the light didn't work which was bad enough for my wife but almost impossible for myself who is partially sighted. There were many other tables available- surely this dark table should be used as a last resort. Then when our starters came there' was only one ish despite, upon ordering, my wife clearly stating "we will both have . . ." Perhaps the server should repeat the order to make sure he's got everything as many other places do. When our mains came the dirty plates from our starters were left on the table and we were not offered condiments. Instead we had to find our server to ask for them. The same had to happen when we wanted another drink only this time our server was nowhere to be seen so a different gentleman brought us our drinks. He also cleared our growing stack of dirty plates/glasses. Finally, when we came to pay the bill, our original server turned up with just the card machine - no offer of viewing the bill to make sure all was correct. Not your usual standards. I hope this was just a blip! Having said all that, the standard of the food was great.

All staff members are extremely accommodating, and happy to help at all times. No random table visits when your mouth is full of pasta or pizza.Always get a great service here! The food is always amazing, nothing bad to say about Zizzi

Friendly staff, clean and a nice environment. The food, as always was good. They were also happy to box up leftovers into a box to avoid food waste!
