Having always walked passed the place we decided to give it a go tonight. It was absaloutly awful. We were waiting to be seated/greeted for ages. And met by someone who spoke to soft I had to ask about 5 times what he said after I asked if there is accessible seating. We sat next to a Table that clearly has not been cleared for some time. We were explained how to order, which again we didn't hear anything. Between the two gentleman that were in the floor, absaloutly useless! The food was disgusting, table with dirty dishes next to us. It's tasted like something had died and gone rank on my plate and that of my friends. The only salvage was the friendly bar lady who discounted our mains.100% would not recommend.

Food was fantastic, tasty, fresh and quickly served. Very busy but very nice place to eat..

Very busy but reasonably fast service and great food.

Great lunch with great service. Unfortunately, the knowledge of the restaurant and their staff for customers with Coeliacs was not great. The online menu showed that the pasta crisps were GF but the waiter informed us that they were fried in oil that gluten containing products were also fried in. The waiter stated that this would contain minimal gluten and was fine to be eaten by someone requiring a GF diet

It's gone down hill. It used to be an alright place to eat.Another place where they ask for tips, company should just pay them fair wages even if they have to hype proces up.Bruscheta was really poor quality. Lasagnea was alright. Their recommended wine tasted like one of those £5 supermarket wines. But I don't know much about wine. Not somewhere I can say I'd recommend.

Terrible experience! I've eaten in various Zizzi restaurants over many years and always enjoyed, but this restaurant should not carry the Zizzi brand. Awfully slow service but not through lack of staff, they were simply disinterested! The person who I'm guessing was the manager had the worst attitude/behaviour, chatting to his mates and focused on his phone rather than keeping an eye on how the customers are! The service was so slow I nearly walked out. A couple in front of me spent 10 minutes trying to attract attention (the place was nearly empty) and eventually one of them had to get up and walk across to one of the waiting staff! They spent as much time explaining and persuading people to use the online ordering and payment app than the time to actually take the order or payment. I asked to pay using the normal way but the bill never arrived so was forced to pay online! The food service was slow as the kitchen appeared to be busy preparing Deliveroo orders, which were clearly prioritised over seated customers. Isn't it time for us to boycott restaurants that do this? Not a good experience and the Cardiff branch of Zizzi is definitely to be avoided.

I have never visited a Zizzi before, and based on my experience in this restaurant, I will not be back. The service was lacklustre at best, with a strange vibe and a distinct lack of presence from the staff. We were not asked once how our meal was, and the only member of staff consistently present was a lady wandering around who seemed to be vaguely observing the tables but not actually engaging with any customers. The food unfortunately was not particularly tasty, and at the prices Zizzi charge, I would have imagined it would have been a lot better. The free appetiser "pasta crisps" we were given were basically flavourless and a very odd texture. The pizza had a very dry and unpleasant, almost floury base, and the toppings didn't really add much to the overall taste - not to mention that for some reason it had rosemary on it. As an Italian, I was fundamentally offended by this pizza. Strangely enough the serving of fries, which were supposed to have rosemary on them, were completely devoid of rosemary - maybe the chef had put it on the pizza instead? When we finally managed to flag someone down in order to get the bill, we then had to wait an eternity to actually pay it. In the end we just went to front of the restaurant to pay rather than continue sitting in the strange ambience of the restaurant.I'm not sure if this experience was down to a young and inexperienced staff, or if this is the standard at all Zizzi branches, but I most definitely will not be returning to find out.

Extremely unhappy with our visit, came to Cardiff for a night and we love zizzi’s so thought we would go.What a mistake that was, firstly greeted by a very moody unwelcoming waitress who didn’t seem to care at all, everything seemed a chore for her to do. She certainly did not have customer satisfaction at the forefront of her mind and it seemed to us that she couldn’t care any less.Starters were fine, not great but came in good time, then we waited over an hour for our main course to come and others around us were being served. We asked for them to cancel our main as we were leaving, again from our lovely waitress we had an eye role and not even an apology.I left the restaurant feeling angry and annoyed and it had an impact on the rest of my night.I am never normally one to write a bad review, but this was diabolical and totally unacceptable.

Low on staff. Long wait for food. Staff on their phone. Deliveries being prioritised. Tables not being cleared after use. New customers being seated had their table cleared/cleaned while being sat down. One such couple had a baby with them. We only got tended to when I prompted staff. Farcical.
