Golden Fish Bar in Monmouthshire

Knew about bad hygiene rating but thought id risk it with the chips, witnessed chef from out the back come into counter area with raw sausages in ungloved hands but then proceed to pick up cooked products and package them up for waiting customers without washing his hands!! Terrible cross contamination, will inform relevant people! And saw your reply, yes the sink is out the back as you say ... chef never went back out the back, he carried the raw stuff through with his bare hands then stayed in counter area serving up food WTHOUT going into the back to wash his hands!!!!

We have always had nice food from here. I will be ordering again. Thank you x

Awful - service is appalling. Staff always miserable, as if customers are an inconvenience.

Went in there yesterday for fish and chips and I was discusting 7.50 for kids size the fish was tiney and not many chips def not worth it would never go bk again

Called in yesterday, purchased chicken & mushroom pie & chips , pie nice , chips , ive never seen anything like it in my life , not sure if they got any idea what they are doing , rough is the only word I can describe them , bit embarrassed to let the bin men to collect them , politeness of staff needs to be improved

Fish as chips Poor standards of potions Especially in the miniature Cod size! Especially when they are a Premium Price. since being taken over. I now Use CODFATHER FISH AND CHIPS SEDBURY AMAZING POTIONS and excellent COD!!!

Happily once gave the Golden Fish Bar 5stars However I have to revise that now to a one star.If I could give a zero I would.The food I had this evening is disgusting. My Partner had Chicken and cashews which was tasteless and really bland. So bad She threw it in the bin.I had Chicken and black bean sauce which was poorly cooked, chicken was tough and also very blandWe had a vegetable spring roll each, these very poured out of the wrapper they were so greasy , spring rolls are supposed to have a crispy shell. These were just an inedible mess.I informed the staff by phone that We will never be back Which is a shame it had been a pleasure to get quality food from there in the past. This visit was horrendous.
