La Piccola Italia in Monmouthshire

Lovely, proper Italian food. Fun atmosphere. Fair prices. Friendly, helpful staff.

We found this delightful restaurant by chance as we spent a night in Monmouth. There were queues constantly which speak for itself in a town where so many eateries were drab and lifeless. We had a lovely meal and the right amount of service and smiles. Not been here yet ? Then make an effort to go and you will feel you have experienced a little slice of Italy. We would recommend the sharing plattèr for a starter. Treat yourselves and soak up the atmosphere of a bistro style restaurant humming with happy people enjoying well designed and reasonably priced meals

We really liked the restaurant and the service was great. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down - the pizza was slightly overcooked and the base was very salty. Hopefully just an off-day.

We just keep coming back! ;-) The food is simply out of this world! The service is perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff is being very attentive and they making sure your experience is perfect. Fantastic setting, beautiful surroundings and finishes. See you soon!

Absolute delight. The service was amazing. Food was delicious. The Penne Arabist’s was wonderful. My partner ordered a calzone and it unfortunately came cold in the centre. The staff were wonderful, apologetic and swift at getting it resolved. Everyone asked how it was once it was replaced, they all clearly care about this wonderful place. The plate even came dishes with a lovely “sorry” written in garnish! Would come back in a heartbeat, what a stunning restaurant!

In the area for a family holiday and came here for the "last night meal". Chose La Piccolo as it looked decent as we passed by when visiting Monmouth.We were not disappointed!We were three generations from grand kids to grandparents and the menu catered for all - good kids menu as well.Excellent food, lovely friendly service and a great ambience in the restaurant.A great finale for our week away.

Went for Valentines dinner. The service and food was amazing. The mood was enhanced with the decorations and even the menu was given a love-theme makeover.

Lovely food one of the best Italian I've been. They keep asking do I need more drinks. There's no much distance between tables, even-though they have more space. I belive they should take more care during the pandemic. That’s the only negtive thing.

Went in very under-dressed not expecting it to be filled with people looking a lot more formal but anyway, I ordered the roast duck and wow very generous serving and tasted great. Waiter could tell when they were needed too. Overall great food and experienceWould definitely recommend
