Outstanding service and excellent food and drink. Superb views of the river Usk and beyond . Very comfortable and well appointed rooms . I can recommend this hotel without reservation.

Went there in august .The table linen was dirty and so where the windows . The food was cheap tasting but at extremely high prices and the decor look liked it was a cheap knock off an awards ceremony, with 6ft tall, dusty silver Oscar statues and many other tacky silver objects , totally at odds with the rustic , inviting and cosy pub feel of the front entrance . The oddest restaurant experience I have ever had .

Where to start. There was a food stain on the table cloth, the whole place needs a good tidy up and deep clean. There was nothing too drastic but it just let's the place down. The staff were very friendly and helpful but very knowledgeable about drinks or meals.I had the peppered steak which did not come as per the menu, I requested med rare and got well done and very thin, the chips were very fatty and the salad was wilted. My wife had fish and asked for new potatoes and veg, she got new potatoes and some wilted salad. Not asked if we we would like another drink or if we wanted a sweet. We gave up waiting and payed the bill and left.

We had a lunchtime meal here when on holiday and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Conservatory opened for us so we could bring our dog in, doors open for ventilation (covid safe), lovely food reasonably priced and quick friendly service. EXCELLENT!!!

Came across this place by accident. Was literally driving down the road and was feeling tired and need of a break.Stopped in the car park and was unsure as did not look like much from the outside. However popped inside and was a wonderfully clean modern look (recently refurbished I would guess).Themed around classic movie stars from '20s to '40s some tall Oscar statues around thea main dinning area.My wife and I ordered a lamb shank and a chicken and mushroom pie. Both were wonderful. Can't wait to find an excuse to visit Wales again just to pop in to this wonderful restaurant. We asked to have a look in a couple of the rooms and they were upto the same standard as the rest of the place

Sadly disappointed. When we arrived they were playing very loud music, turned out to be the local radio, so we we're listening to adverts and loud crass music throughout our meal. Firstly, they told us we had booked for an hour later than we actually had. Then got both our drinks orders wrong. No wine list, the menu is pub grub, but very pricey. The view is stunning, however the windows are grubby and marked with fingerprints. We were not offered any drink top ups and our glasses were empty from the middle of our starters until we left. Begrudged paying £50 for 2 courses, a small coke, and a 175ml glass of poor quality wine. Will not be returning.

Just had a spot of lunch here today. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The staff were very helpful and polite. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and the lady even asked if we wanted water for the dog. So kind. We sat outside with the most amazing view of the river and the valley. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

First stayed at the Llanwenarth Hotel and Restaurant about 6 years ago when me and my wife first started dating and it was absolutely stunning. Good food, the room was nice, food was good, staff were professional and it was a really nice relaxing night away.Fast forward 6 years and wow what a massive change! We stayed there last night and it was absolutely horrible! I would say it’s more of a hostel not a hotel! The price of the room was £90 and it was absolutely terrible, people shouting through the night down the corridors, the room above us sounded like it had big foot walking on the floorboards throughout the night. All in all, managed about 4 hours sleep and it weren’t down to hanky panky!!!!Can’t comment on the food but after having a look at the very limited menu for evening meal we decided to venture out into Abergavenny for our food instead however, we were planning on taking advantage of our free breakfast included in our ‘deal’ but there was no time given to us or signs stating a time and also no one was about at 8am in the morning to ask. That was the nail in the coffin for me so we up’d and left! I would never stay here again even if they paid me! Avoid at all costs unless your fishing for a divorce or there is absolutely no where else in the world open!

Visited this hotel several times before the pandemic and experienced a wonderful ambiance and excellent meals.Visited today and realised it was under new management -( with no alcohol licence )Pate was served with small salad and dried toast, and the main course of ploughman’s lunch arrived with extremely stale bread rolls. The lasagna was unseasoned and without a cheese sauce. The sauce which the lasagna sat on was indescribable and sickly. This is the worse meal ever, and would definitely suggest driving past without stopping.

Even though the name is still the same, this is not the place from years ago.Where to begin...Ordering a beer at the bar and the beer coming out of a can without even asking me if it's okay... I get that at my local rugby club.Men with their tops off moving around furniture around right next to us whilst we eat...The food being very over priced, especially when the cod seemed to be from the freezer and brown with scent to it. Cannot see how a restaurant could honestly have the audacity to serve that to a customer! No sauces brought out, causing my bill...I begrudge spending my hard earned money on such a disappointing experience. If you have any sense you'll drive straight passed this place!
