Nice pub friendly staff polite and chatty, regulars was nice and friendly called in to watch the rugby! No food served at this time but we really enjoyed and would definitely call back again and would recommend.

Two of us called in for food Saturday 5th September. The town was busy. Pub has a small dining room, 6 tables, a bar and a large beer garden. Typical pub offerings, from sandwiches to steaks. We wanted two mixed grills, queued at bar in dining room, one person serving. Took 10 minutes. Became obvious they were short staffed. Waited over half an hour, asked about our food, it would be another 20 minutes. Went out to move the car. A further half an hour later food arrived.Very nice, absolutely no problems at all with it. At the end the barmaid offered us £3.00 as we had to pay extra for parking. We declined,it was a lovely gesture. She explained that she was the manager but 3 staff short due to sickness and holiday, and she had to call her mother in to help out.Can I just say that I'd like to think we were unlucky to have to wait. Will eat here again. Please get the staffing situation sorted, but would recommend for the food.

Friday evening around 19.00.A grade ll, listed building, with many medieval features.Quiet in the dining room and serving a reduced Covid 19 menu. The food was excellent, both the mixed grill and the fish pie, were tasty, filling and enjoyable.Service was good quick and pleasent. They were serving Timothy Taylor's Landlord on draught, which was ideal with food. The bar sounded lively and busy.Highly recommended for either good food or drinks.

Great place to eat and drink, not a huge selection on the menu and a few things they didn't have, but they did have a power cut the night before....so...-1 star just for that fact

Good pub with a great big huge wooden door and the pub itself has character. Very good service. Enjoyed a couple of pints in here.
