Seven Seas II Fish Bar & Restaurant in Monmouthshire

I know this will not mean a thing to them but, I will never visit The Seven seas chip shop again. The last two times I have visited there I was overcharged, it's not enough that the prices are exorbitant, but to be ripped off. The first time we ordered a children's meal, we weren't offered the drink and we had to ask for it. When we were home, we realized that they hadn't even put the toy in. The second visit we ordered a donner kebab, they took the precut meat from drip tray, sat In a pool of grease and quite cold, it was just disgusting!I think the reason for the high prices is that there are to many staff! They fall all over each other and mix up the orders.

Honestly not happy with what’s been given!They charge £13.50 for this. Now as a chef I know this fish definitely didn’t cost anywhere near what they charge. Chips are basic chip shop chips and a bought in curry sauce. The fact I can sit here and count how many chips are in my box is a disgrace.For £13.50 I’d expect more chips than this. Absolute shambles. Ripping customers off with these types of portion sizes.Will not be ordering from here again as I value my money.It’s cheap products and they’re pricing it well above what it should be. Chips, fish, curry sauce and a drink shouldn’t be anymore than £9 at a push.

We visited yesterday the 17th May for lunch. We were visiting the area and had looked at the current reviews.We were not disappointed, the food was freshly cooked I had haddock and my wife cod and chips in the restaurant. The lady serving us was very pleasant and professional. It was a really hot day but credit to all for a very pleasant visit. We will definitely come again when in the vicinity. Thank you.

Exceptionally good cod and chips. Fresh, crispy, very nice cut of fish. I have 4-5 fish and chipshops within 5 miles of my house but I would drive 20 miles here especially.

Best chip shop we have been to for a long time . Chips were lovely no hard or scraggy ones . Chicken was lovely . Would definitely recommend and go back next time in the area .

Ordered a takeaway fish and chips this evening only to get home and find that the fish was missing, immediately rang and was asked for the name on the order and to pop down to collect the fish. Upon arrival on behalf of my mum, I gave her name and was met with a very rude lady with brunette hair. Even though it was their mistake for not packing the correct order I was shouted at in front of a shop full of customers. All of that for some undercooked chips and unmelted cheese. Completely humiliating and unprofessional from the team there, will not be returning. An apology will not go amiss, and the team to receive some training on their communication with customers.

I had the misfortune of going in this shop this evening as we are on holiday from Bristol. As I waited in the queue a young lady walked to the front of the queue and very politely asked for a fish which was missing from a previous visit by her Mom a few moments before. The Woman serving her became so rude asking for a receipt and , how much had she paid and the young girl who was still very polite told her Mom had not been given a receipt at this the Woman literally threw the wrapped piece of fish at her. The girl said well how rude are you and walked out. Needless to say considering this is how this shop deals with problems arising from their mistakes ,I for one will never return . This woman needs lessons in Customer Care or get another job where she’s not dealing with the public. If she is the owner she should be ashamed of herself and sell up !!!!!!

Been twice, once for take out and once to eat in. Prices for food, not bad but expensive for tinned drinks. I enjoyed the kebab and chips. Pity no pitta with the kebab meat. Will use again if in the area.

Would have been 5 stars but I feel the portion sizes of the chicken kebab meat was a little on the small size for the price

My daughter and I had a very nice time eating in the socially distanced restaurant. It was the first time she made a chip butty and discovered it to be delicious! The chips were first rate and the fish was cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive too.We will definitely be coming back for more!
