Really, really, really old Inn. Apparently Wales' oldest Inn (and it shows). A great little find on my way to source some 4G signal in a nearby village. You can tell from the front door and the fireplace that this building has seen some sights. Reading some of the history, the pub may hold many secrets within its walls 😲As for the beer, a good selection of a couple of locals, as well as staples. Local cider on draught and Spanish lager. Friendly enough staff delivering efficient service on beers and food.Menu is a very good one, having lots of traditional favourites from burgers and pie, too steak and liver. Proper rustic, traditional pub grub. Not too pricey! Seems very popular, with the sun shining on my visit the beer garden full and indoors busy. Parking around the back and a lovely garden with tables out front for those who like to traffic watch.

We always visit The Skirrid when in the area. Lovely food and good size portions. We've never had a bad meal. Friendly staff in this historic pub. We haven't stayed in the rooms so can't give feedback.

Lovely historic Inn, nice selection of ales, very friendly staff and well cooked food!

·

Lovely location, nice selection of beers. Customer service from the lady behind the bar could have been better.

·

Lovely Sunday lunch, great service and friendly staff! Make a great fuss of all the customers dogs when they came outside to serve our food. We'll be back!

We popped in for a pint, the beef curry, ham, egg and chips and delicious dessert with our Golden Retriever. The Skirrid isn't dog friendly however the lady on the bar let us eat in the snug as it is the only table in that area. She kindly filled his bowl with water. Well worth a visit to this 11th century pub.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch. A bit out the way but interested in it being Wales oldest pub and it being haunted. The staff were friendly and I reserved a table the day before. We had the roast beef.I was impressed with the quality of the ingredient and meat was soft and tender.Could of done with another roast potato. The setting was great, cosy feel to it. We sat in the bar area but there was a dining room adjacent.Staff were great in letting me have a nose around the place and upstairs. There is a fair size garden and benches at the front for al fresco dining.I will return and maybe attend a paranormal night 👻

Stayed at the skirrid last night. Had a brilliant time, but mainly due to how positive, friendly and welcoming the staff were. Very kind and friendly.Ghost hunting was also great. Booked another night to go back and try and get more evidence.Food was also great and very reasonably priced. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend.

Very atmospheric pub, but what else would you expect for one of the oldest inns in Wales. The staff are friendly, and the food is good. Recommend the ghost tours there if you're into that sort of thing.
